so there is life in Adelaide!! Thought they were all dead as there has been no movement. Roll on July when hopefully the dam will burst and new COs and visas will flood out.

Hi everyone

We're paperbased too. Applied for a 176 state sponsored in January 2008. Acknowledged Feb 2008, meds sent March & PC's in May.

Why our agent sent it this way we don't know, we're not very happy about it.

Goodness knows when we'll get a CO!

Good luck to everyone else.

Hi.....

There is a change in Visa offices .... let me see if I can word it properly... Certain visas (457 / Parent Visa and one other) are being moved to what they will call "excellence centre" ... as from 1 July 2008. Any app lodged prior to that will remain at the office where lodged (to be reassessed in September 2008).... What this means is..... (I think)

From now all 457's (and other visas) are being lodged at the excellence centres so therefore time processing should be shortened for the balance remaining at that office... there are three excellence centres (Sydney, Perty and Adelaide - I think again lol)... but that's what is happening... not only that but from January 2009 there will centres for different visas introduced further.... change all in all to take up to 12 months ....

Phew ... hope this helps...

Hi Kazozz....

Yes it will.... with the three visa's moving away from DIAC this will allow for a clear up of back log... I'm sure of it...

Its difficult as all we are doing is thinking V I S A !! Awful... but remember this... what is meant to be will be and you'll see in the end it will work out why it is taking so long for you ....

thumbs up !! :-)

I'm glad someone started this thread as there seems to be no news for paper applications. We applied Nov and had acknowledgement and money taken 8th November. no news since then!
We have asked our agent why they applied this way and not online and got the answer that we had too many pages in app as online has a limit on number of pages sent?? Don't know if this is true or if they're just fobbing us off...
What i dont understand is why do the online apps get priority over paper ones??
Anyway moan over! Lets hope we start getting CO's soon.

I too can't understand why the paper based applications should take SOOOOOO much longer - it really doesn't make any sense to me - but I guess it makes sense to someone.

There's still loads of us who applied in August, and some who applied in July/June waiting to hear on either case officers or visa grants - so you can imagine how we feel when we see applications lodged LONG after ours being granted before us. Very frustrating - don't get me wrong - I'm delighted for everyone that gets their visa - just don't know why we don't get news before them.

However, we have to continue playing the waiting game for the moment !

These are very frustrating times for everyone as we all go along with the "anticipated" time line and then nothing... so we are living in limbo ... not knowing whether to sell up - start packing NOTHING... so we just sit. Worst even more is we read everything that has the word "visa" in it .. so we live every minute wishing it would come - anxiously...

Hi everybody. We are paperbased as well and are applying for the skilled 175. Application went in the end of september with acknowledgement and file reference the 2nd October. Still waiting to hear anything and have not had meds or pccs done yet neither. Have been told by our agent to get them done but still not sure how long things are going to take.

House been on the market since last July with not much interest so really not in any rush at the moment. Which, it would seem, is a good thing
