Like Jaq4chop we too are using Visa Bureau who we have found excellent so far. I wish they had done online purely so we can track ourselves. I have to disagree with you saying it is the agents job to do their best to make things swift. Their job is to ensure your application is complete with little or no errors and to avoid being asked for additional information which would inevitably delay your application. From some timelines (which are all different cases) paperbased are on average 3 months longer than online. Just gives you 3 months extra to sell your house

Good luck to all, lets hope we hear soon.

Regarding the 60 page limit on online applications - that's hog wash!
My DH had a 42 page RPL, plus 5 jobs to document with reference letters and pay stubs, ACS results letter, plus marriage cert., name change for me, adoption info from our DD, inside of passports for 6 of us, pictures of 6 of us, 3 certifications for DH, police clearances, IELTS results, a change of circumstances form. ALL UPLOADED successfully.
60 is the maximum number of FILES - at 1,000KB each. There's a limit but it's a size limit. Each of those documents can be quite large.
Looks like one of the steps is uploading that information at the DIAC. What your agent wasn't willing to do for you DIAC has to take the time to do....which is what puts the paper based so far behind, according to the letter.

We are also using Four Corners as our agent. We queried the online/paper applications and got the same answer that you can only submit 60 pages online...I couldn't tell you how many pages we had though! Wasn't sure whether to believe them or not or if they were just fobbing us off!!
I also read on here somewhere that the reason the paper apps take longer to process is because there are more mistakes being made on them whereas the online has to be correct before submitting. does kinda make sense really but still not very comforting for those still waiting for news.
we got our CO last week and had our meds done yesterday, pcc's have been requested so now we wait again.

I see you applied in Nov and got a case officer Aug so it looks like another 4 months wait for a CO for me then.

What have you thought about four corners so far? the girl that deals with us is really nice and we've had no probs with them, just dont know why they charge soo much money?

Maybe, but you never know things might pick up a bit! Just think positively it will all happen in the end. I don't understand what all these different visa types mean tho so yours might not take as long as ours did???

As others have posted in regards to other agents it did seem at times that I was doing the hard work, perhaps i expected that an agent would be doing more, but I always had good responses from Cori when I needed some 'hand holding' and guidance.
We are still in waiting limbo land and it looks like as we are 475 AND paper based there is still a long wait ahead. I won't do police checks and medicals till requested by a CO to maximise the visa validation time when it eventually gets granted.

Four Corners.........hmnn......my contact has just gone on maternity leave and it took another email from myself to ask why her replacement had not replied to a previous email 10 days before.

We waited til we got CO before getting meds and pcc's done. All done this week and am now waiting to hear if my chest xray is ok as was called back for another yesterday, apparently doc saw something and wanted another view
the radiographer was lovely and said she couldnt see anything and would call me back today if there was a problem, so i'm hoping no news is good news....Good luck with the waiting

this is my reply from the processing centre !!! ive sent another one back saying all i want is to keep up with bloody online, and stop the ever increasing gap and process visas on a months worth of visa s every month !?
thats me back to the bottom of the pile
You mean I'm not on the bottom anymore?
Wahooo!
Here's a thought do you think when they replaced Earnie (The premium bond computer) he headed down under to work for DIAC?

Oooooo... hung over this morning and have spent the day having hot and cold sweats thinking 'I didn't say anything too bad... did I?'
Quite like this thread and think it might be quite therapeutic.
Agent has returned answer to my question on why some applicants have had CO'S from Feb and March and we havent. He says it might be because their original credit card payments bounced and their new payments meant that they were bought up the line ????? Don't really get this at all
Agent has actually been very prompt in their service and I really didn't want to sound like an old whinge bag. Think that they are telling litle porky pies though bacause they havent 'admitted' that online applicants are processed much faster than the paper based one they submitted for us.
I fell a little less frustrated now and have accepted that we might not get case officer for some time yet. Also asked agent if we should start with meds etc and he says hold for a while because of the need to sell our house. That was our original plan and perhaps more sensible.
Look forward to the next bottle of Pinot Grigio with you all... cheers

Hi Lou
Wouldn't worry about what you said last night, people always tell the truth when they've had a few and the typing was great lol.
My agent told me the same as you, I just wish I hadn't informed my credit card company.
Which agent are you using as you are not far from us and I was wondering if it was the same one?

We are using The Emmigration Group and started the process in about June 2007. To be fair, they said try and get all the research done by September1st but we just missed it. We chose them because they sounded so professional and were really helpful and in fact they have lived up to their reputation. I'm not angry that they put in a paper application just puzzled because it seems a little out of date and I don't know any benefits of paper applications. They don't promise to be quicker just that they will do their job efficiently and they have.
The housing market is the real trial and I suppose if it wasn't for this then I might be a little more cheesed off! I also read a post about 7,000 folders apparently to be found on the floor in the Adelaide office and this freaked me out a bit because I just know ours is on the bottom!!! (call me a pesimest....).
I decided to dodge the forum for a while but am back on it and have even dabbled with the delightful Realestate site. Another favourite haunt of us all hey? I suppose it will happen when it does and at least its nice to know we are all in a similar situation and that I am clearly not the only 1 developing alcohol dependance. Am sure some people at work really do think I am spinning them a yarn though and that I don't plan to go at all. They can't believe it takes so long!
Good luck, Lou

We started the process back in May last year and were sent all the info a couple of weeks after the initial meeting and told that we could apply for the 136 visa if we got our application in before September using family sponsor and the investment bond to get the points.
However they did not inform us at the beginning that the Vetasses would take at least two months to come through which was clearly a known length of time for this process and that the info for this part was of paramount importance to get back to them.On phoning them back in June last year asking that did they just want the info for this sent back and not the whole load of stuff for the application we were informed that they needed everything, so getting the info back for the Vetassess was delayed and resulted in the Vetasses being put in too late, around end of July and not getting it back until end of September, which resulted in us having to apply for the 475 visa.
We were also never informed that we could have put in an online application or indeed given it as an option and just thought paper was a standard thing.
However it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as we would have been caught up in the bond withdrawn issue, but never the less we felt very misinformed.
These agents are by no way the cheapest and we chose them as we felt this was a huge step in our lives and did not want to trust it to a cheaper agent.
Still all is done now and moaning won't change things but I felt this had to be said.
All the best,
wwwt
