It was definitely the complaint form that spurred my application being processed. I received a further email, in addition to the one from my CO, as follows:
Dear Miss Judge,
Thank you for your feedback received on 6 September 2008 which has been forwarded to me for reply and follow up. Please note that a pre grant letter was sent to you today.
Yours Sincerely,

COngrats Marooend NZ !!!!! That is certianly good news indeed !!!!
I followed your example and sent a complaint in yesterday - all worded very nicely, and more with a plea for more info that anything else.
I got back a very standard reply this morning saying that case loads are high, lots of applications received in Aug 07, processing in order they were received....etc etc. Standard stuff. They also included the email address to send a blank email to for an update on processing times....
So, all in all.....not the "spur of activity" that I was hoping for.....but it was only yesterday and I can only hope that something will come of it.
Stil - good to hear your news.....means that things are happening !
Cheers!

BEUPDATE won't let me update my information on there so here's my final timeline:
(PAPERBASED 176 Family Sponsored.)
- Application sent 17/03/08 (inc. PCCs)
- Acknowledged with Client Ref 20/03/08
- Meds passed and sent to DIAC 03/04/08.
- Complaint form sent 06/09/08
- Pre-Grant letter 11/09/08 (no additional info required, all the CO wanted was my itinerary for departing Australia as I am onshore as a student)
- Flying to NZ on 15/09/08 to pick up visa label (CO has emailed to tell me it will be waiting for me at the Mission on 16/09/08)
I didn't have to supply payslips or P60, they accepted just a reference letter from my employer which I worded based on the ASCO definition of my occupation.
25 weeks and 3 days. NOICE!

Feels very surreal at the moment, as I am sure you are feeling the same.
We were the same thing, no contact from a case officer, just checked our online status and there it was applicant approved. Total time to get the visa under 4 months.
I am sitting here in Canada at midnight drinking champagne. Don't know how I am going to be tomorrow.
Congratulations again Marooned... great feeling getting your visa isn't it.

Guess what we just got approved for our 176 visa. We applied online May 15th.

So great for you and me, but why on EARTH are DIAC processing March and May applications when people from last year are waiting
#532
It's funny, some people get their visa's quickly and others have to wait.
I personally don't think that is fair, I think it should be according to date.
I just saw on another site, that an applicant who applied in August 08 online, has some of his things shown as met.
I don't know their ryhme or reason as how they do things in Adelaide.
Maybe all the paperbased who are still waiting should follow your lead and follow up with complaint emails.
Maybe that will push them along a bit.
Best wishes for all paperbased applicants.... I hope you get your visas soon.

Hi Everyone,
Firstly, congratulations for getting the visa granted!
Really happy for you.
I have taken your suggestion and gone ahead and lodged a complaint as really tired of seeing MAY applicants now getting theirs!
Makes you wonder how the processing works, however - really happy for the applicants that are getting their visa's through - just a bit jealous
All the best to everyone.
However, I do agree and I think we should ask what is actually happening and there seems to be no fair way of them agreeing the visa's!
All the best and hopefully hear good news soon for all of our sakes!

Our Meds arrived in Sydney today so keeping everything crossed and hope the case officer has not put our application on the floor with other 7000 or wedged the door with it !!!

Our MED were mailed from the US the first week of September - but haven't arrived yet!
I sent an email last week inquiring if they were there - no I was told.
Can't imagine where they are! Called the Panel Doctor last week asking for more information about the courier/tracking number. No reply. I'll call again today.
