In my country theres no overseas immigration office, so I dont want to go to another country for my visa stamp and I dont trust in the mail, so my question is: can I go to Australia without this stamp and just with my grant letter as an evidence of visa???
thanks a lot in advance.
Hey elzorro, Congratuations... What a christmas present. I know people send passport to the embassy in chile via fedex or DHL with a pre-paid evelop and it takes about 7 to 10 days to go and come back. BobCatVe, the passport is ABSOLUTELY NECESARY, but the visa stamp not sure about. In the grant letter says:
Evidence of your visa
(It is recommended that all visa holders obtain evidence of their visa in their current passport.
They can have evidence of their visa placed into their passport at any of the department’s offshore offices with visa evidencing facilities. Details of addresses and opening times for these overseas offices can be found at - http://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/overseas/index.htm.
Please note that a copy of this letter is sufficient for visa evidencing purposes). So I guess and Ill take the risk of going to Ozz without stamp and just my passport and the grant letter. God will help me there Im sure about it.

Since, I was hearing various news about July 2009 applicant getting COs and I am not, I have sent the message to DIAC.

Today, I received their reply and It is very surprising to read this:

"As your nominated occupation is not on the CSL and you are not sponsored by an employer, your visa application will not be finalised until those visa applications which meet the higher processing priorities are finalised."

But according to the CSL list available at http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...kills-list.pdf all the Computer Professionals specialization present in MODL are included in CSL list.

I have applied for specialization in .NET/Java (ASCO code 2231-79), which is part of MODL as well as CSL list.

1. Please confirm why my application is not given the priority as my nominated occupation is on CSL list.

2. Do I have to separately mentioned some where that my nominated occupation is on CSL list.

Thanks and regards,

I think you should mail with your ACS assessment paper then may be they convert it to CSL list. And you should remember in your application did you select the correct nominated occupation.

Komail: can you tell me which ASCO code you have been assigned in the ACS letter you have got?

There has to be specific wording to qualify for MODL.

Like: even if you have qualified for ASCO Code 2231-79 you are NOT on MODL until unless your letter says something like:

"Your skills have been assessed to be suitable for migration under 2231-79 (.NET Technologies Specialist) of the ASCO Code, .........

Based on the provided certified documentation it is the opinion of the ACS that applicanet has 12 months experience in .NET Technologies."

If you do not have the underline text in your ACS letter; you are not on MODL.

* Important: If you nominate one of the above specialist computing occupations, you will only be awarded MODL points if your skills assessment from the relevant Australian assessing body – the Australian Computer Society (ACS) states you have met the criteria to be recognised in one of the above specialisations.

Skills assessments provided to successful applicants will state:

* the ASCO Code for Computer Professional not elsewhere classified (nec) with the specialisation stated in brackets - for example, 2231-79 (SAP) and
* the statement: 'Based on the provided certified documentation, it is my opinion that the applicant has 12 months experience in (name of specialisation, for example, SAP)'.

Note: If you have a skills assessment which only states the ASCO Code for 'Computer Professional nec 2231-79', you are not eligible to be awarded MODL points. A new assessment with the above information will be required if you wish to claim MODL points.
