I completed all documentation, and got acknowledgment email on March 1st. I was patient and since I got no email from any of officers I sent a reminder email on May 1st. Markus answered me same day that he accepted my request for exploratory visit!
Next, I sent Markus on May 14th dates that I want to travel. He did not reply me to this day. I guess I will be sending him another reminder letter soon.

Hi
It is. A 200K mortgage 25 year amortization @ 5.25% is actually $1191.84 a month. https://www.rbcroyalbank.com/cgi-bin.../mpc/start.cgi

Hi lovely_clouds, it was after my credit card was charged. We got an e mail saying all of the checks were completed at that stage and paperwork sent on to London. I think it was in that e mail we got the UCI number.
We had our medical on May 31st so just waiting some more now - and hoping for no medical recalls , just going with the flow, working and saving and hoping for the best

Thanks for the quick feedback. Our file's received on Friday as per FedEx status update. So guess, we wait for another couple of weeks for the CC charge to show up.
All the best on your file now. Wish meds come clean and you get the passport request soon enough.
BTW: "paperwork sent on to London" : are you referring to London, Ontario or London, Britain?

Re: Manitoba - Strategic Initiative
Good evening, I want see if I get some info on the strategic initiative. I've been looking at applying as a skilled worker in July, however I've been looking at the strategic initiative as an option. I'm currently in South London UK.
I'm looking to email to apply for explanatory visit. I currently work as a vocational specialist the equivalent of vocational psychologist/employment counsellor in Canada. I have a Msc in occupational and organisational psychology, a grad dip in psychology and a B/phil in youth, community and play studies.
I have a just under year experience in my current role and combination of 11years as community and social worker role.
I've completed my ITELS and have a mark of 7.5, I'm going to scan this along with my certificates and CV to send along with my email.
I've got limited knowledge of Manitoba, as I was looking at London Ontario initially. I have looked at Winnpeg and Brandon, as I like to be in a more relax setting, but still near a city.
I'm not sure what I need to say about why I would like to move to Winnpeg or Brandon, as the mains reason I'd like to move is because I've also wanted to work and live abroad, want to live in a more relaxed/less busy environment with a more community feel. Is there any more thoughts about what i could add, or the strength of my potential application. I've been lurking on here for a little while, so know there are a lot of knowledgeable people on here!!! Thank you

Welcome to the forum.
I believe that by saying - "want to live in a more relaxed/less busy environment with a more community feel" - you have really answered the question completely.
The tab line for MB is - "Friendly Manitoba". And having experienced Winnipeg in Feb, I say that Manitoba is truly Friendly and very Helpful. And that's really a reason to immigrate to Manitoba.
Additionally, you may also explore the internet reading more about MB - in terms of prairies, lakes, ethnicity, multi-religion respect, cross-culturalism & other factors your consider important for making any province or city your home. These might help you identify your answer further. Well, thats what we did; and were thus able to frame out what to write to immigration officers in EV application.
I am sure there were will be others as well on the forum here to guide you. Do look out for @manitobian as well
All the best to you with your EV application.

Re: Manitoba - Strategic Initiative
hello manitobian and everyone in the forum! this is a great and very informative thread..
just a brief introduction about myself.. I'm a nurse from philippines and i'm planning to apply under FSW this coming July but then i came across this exploratory visit..it seems easier and little bit of a hassle.. i have 3years experience as a nurse and 1year as a clinical instructor...
my question is do u guys think i may qualify under strategic initiative? is it more costly than fsw? i have friends and distant relatives in manitoba but then general stream is too slow...
i hope u can advise me... thank you...

@lazybee: welcome here
as to your question, if you would qualify: nurse as a profession is a good start, you need to look at the other points that need to be fulfilled (settlement funding, age and so on). You need also to be carefully if and when you write the letter asking about an exploratory visit, as you said you have friends and relatives in Manitoba. The logic way for a PNP officer would be to send you to either family or general stream (strategic stream is meant for those having no other options). So, if your family is not close enough to qualify under the family stream...if your ties are close enough, they will then ask you to apply under general stream. So only if family/friends are rather ppl you know they are there, but you are by far not close enough that you could ask them for help...only then might they accept you under the strategic stream.
@hurricane: lifestyle, nature and finding the right job in the right environment for you ...and of course all the other points lovely_cloud makes, are very valuable points.

wow..thank u for the prompt reply manitobain... initially during the EV do i need to present my settlement fund or after the nomination? how long does it take usually from trying my luck in EV until settlement in canada as provincial nominee? btw, im 27 years old and single... would that matter that i don't have a family to bring with me?

@lazybee: doesn't matter if single or married.
The proof of funds is latest needed when sending in PNP application ..but best to show already during the EV (if you have everything else in order, documents collected as needed, and you get the invitation to apply during your interview, you can theoretically send the PNP application off online the same day)
It takes about 3 months to get invitation for expl. visit from initial contact.
It takes about 2-3 month from PNP application to nomination.
After nomination and finding a job, you can apply for a WP ..but as you are from a country needing a TRV, you will have to do that through your Country, can't do it at the airport. I checked a few months ago those timelines, and it takes almost as long for a WP than PR, so you might be better off applying for PR only once nominated. Timelines for specific visa office you find on www.cig.gc.ca
