How long before that becomes a general (un-announced) rule, especially as for British a 1 year visa is extortionate encouraging 6 month instead?

Re: Visa help.

This isn`t strictly visa related but just to let you all know that there is now absolutely NO problem with re-entry into India on a Tourist visa.
I have been up to Nepal for 5 days and had no problems with immigration at all.
:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Loved it apart from the 2 day bandh(strike) which brought the whole of nepal to a complete standstill. All shops and most restaurants closed and no taxis or buses! Was only there for 3 and half days !!!!!!!!!!
Just means I`ll have to go back in the future.:thumbsup:

Just to clarify. If you have a 6 month or 1 yr tourist visa you can come and go as you please provided your visa is multiple entry. There is also no restriction on time between two visas.

When did this happen? this is fantastic news for anyone who is living over there all the time, did I miss all the celebrations on here!!
So you can just go out to Nepal and come back as soon as you get a new visa?
Very Happy because that 2 month ban was a nightmare for anyone thinking of retiring over there.

Hi Lee

Are you and Maria married?

If you are married : you may find you have rights to a UK visa under the Human Rights Act - RIGHT TO FAMILY
(Google the H.R.A and check up on the .gov.org site and you will see this)
You would also have rioght of appeal on the same grounds should her visa be refused

If I presume that Lee and his wife just want to visit UK?
I would think that Lee's wife falls between the two main types of visa. The above would be right if Lee was settled in the UK and his wife wanted to apply to be with him. However he is settled in India and they seem to just want to visit UK.
Applying for a visitor's visa you have to state that you are not going to UK to get married etc. that is might be wanting to settle.
So I presume if they are already married the same might apply and settlement intention would be suspected of Maria, but there must be some way of explaining, there must be others in same situation!!!

Lee do you have relatives or friends in UK that could sponsor your wife for a visitor's visa without you being involved ?

we married 4th may 2012 at mapsa,
after 24 years in goa I thought filling in a uk visa form for her was easy.
I was wrong, they refused because they said I don't live in goa even though I sent my pport with 5 year x visa, and Maria would not return, even though she has apartment at Green Wood Medows Candolim in her name, two fixed deposits in bank, plus a new Wagon R in her name.

I read the refusal over, and over again, it didn't add up,and forget about about the appeal part, I tried, need to be a professer to get through it all.

Then the penny droped, money, apply again, pay again.
thank you all so much. x
