A lot in the papers of late about Jimmy Saville and none of it good. We now have the Catholic Church 'jumping on the bandwagon', it seems they are to remove his Papal Knighthood. Whilst I can understand why this action is being taken and quite rightly so, the hypocrisy of of it all is laughable. The Catholic Church have covered up child abuse on a world wide basis actively moving there 'employees' internationally rather than allow them to face enquiery and possible prosecution, but more importantly from the position of the church preventing them facing the possibility of being sued. They are all just rats on smelling a terrier, scurrying for the closest sewer.
Surprise, Surprise, they have arrested Garry Glitter in connection with Saville. BBC reputation on the line for all this disgusting behavior. |

Gary Glitter - convicted vile scum, should've been put down by now! Jimmy Saville - 300 people have contacted police, shame Saville wasn't dealt with before he died. John Peel - allegedly had sex with a girl, who was below the age of 16. Freddie Starr - distancing himself from allegations! Then I read that Tony Blackburn & Dave Lee Travis (I think it was) used to play 'young girl' by Gary Puckett & dedicate it to Jimmy Saville - potentially, how sick is that & what did they really know??? Goa: Global travel promos to take a backseat but UK causes concern
28 Oct: Herald. This year the Tourism Department will focus on just three international tourism promotional events … The department will lay emphasis at travel marts in London, Sweden, and Dubai. The department will not participate in travel marts in Portugal and Spain … The focus, however, this year is on London as there is a consistent decline of charters and British FITs, which has prompted the Goa Tourism Ministry to increase its promotional events during the forthcoming World Tourism Mart between November 5 to 8, 2012 River Princess shipwreck removal company floats resurvey bid 27 Oct: Herald. In a very surprising develop ment, Arihant Ship Breakers-- the firm which was commissioned to remove the grounded transhipper M V River Princess-- has written to the State government to allow the company to do a resurvey at the ship wreck site off Candolim beach… Some suspect that they removed only what was above the sea bed and material still continues to remain buried below |
Re: In To-day's Newspapers
I cannot keep wondering how much of this Savile Affair is motivated by The Criminal Compensation Act. Reporting a crime 30 to 40 years after it was committed where there is no forensic evidence other than your word against some one who is dead should not be allowed in law. A man was convicted last week for crimes committed over 50 years but in this case there was 4 victims whose statements all supported each other. The man was deported from Australia and received a sentence of 11 years. He was 71.The reality of obtaining a conviction in court where its just your word against some one else and there is a an extensive period of time involved should not be allowed. There should a Statute of Limitations in the UK concerning crimes of this nature and the Criminal Compensation Act should be binned. The only exception should be Murder. All this has done has been to provide the Tory leaning press-read Daily Mail and Express and the Tory Party with ammunition to bash the BBC with.Yes the BBC turned a blind eye but what about the independent TV companies ? This has turned into a media feeding frenzy with the red tops boosting their circulation when i reality they are part and parcel of the problem with their page 3 titillation usually of teenage girls aqged around 17/18 years old.Rank hypocrisy of the worst sort.

I understand your concerns regarding Criminal Compensation but before making that conclusion you need to understand more about the psyche of an abused child. In Portugal the statute of limitations on a crime of this type is 10 years, however the government there recently waived the statute of limitations to allow a child abuse case to take place involving the (surprise surprise) Catholic church, a government minister, senior police officers and various members of the ''great and the good'', it has been described as the biggest scandal in the history of Portugal. Hundreds of boys were involved over many many years, getting those affected by this abuse to testify was very difficult. There was a huge differential between boys abused by persons still living and the abusers that have died willingness to testify. I am not a child psychologist however the reasoning behind this has been explained to me by those that are qualified to do so. I would respectfully suggest that you look into things a little deeper before concluding that the motive is financially motivated. You can have no idea of how difficult it is for those involved to come forward, even now. They need to be commended for there bravery not have there motives questioned. |
Re: In To-day's Newspapers
The problem with the Catholic Church and its wayward priests is that they look at paedophile abuse of young children as a manifestation of evil that they are there to fight. They do not see it as we do.We see abuse as a product of human desire, they look for supernatural reasons,ie, The Devil. Therefore to confess and atone for your sins is enough in a Church Court.Thats one of the reasons they hide priests from Civil Courts and penal penalties. To them its double jeopardy. As for Portugal you should include Belgium too for institutional abuse of children by the High and Mighty, Great and Good. But i still stick by guns against The Criminal Compensation culture we have developed here in the UK. I dont think any one should get compensation for a criminal act committed against them unless it was murder and children are involved.I know of too many cases that have involved people i know who have to endure long court cases because the motivation behind the allegation was money from the state in the form of compensation. one to one allegations from the past that have no forensic basis should be dealt with in the Civil Courts or a commission of enquiry. This does not apply to Savile as there are hundreds of allegations to support the abuse. But one to one after 30 years is an abuse of the system....
