Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Sorry, Noni - could not find anything.
Perhaps the online edition is different from the actual paper. The online edition takes you straight to today's (10th March) edition. Or perhaps the cold weather in London has atrophied my brain????:rofl::rofl::rofl::eek: |
Re: In To-day's Newspapers
AndyD has posted a link about this on the VISA HELP thread. Thanks, Andy.
Ever forward  |

Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Thank you Iain.
Where the hell do they get a figure of six million foreign tourists (to the whole of India presumably)? And following this typical Indian bureaucrats logic, 0.1% of 6million is 6,000 pissed off tourists, but why would he care? |
Re: In To-day's Newspapers
I agree, J5 - 6,000 does not seem a lot, but at least it's a start and a step in the right direction.
After all, they cannot back down immediately and lose face over this total fiasco. Let's hope common sense prevails............ Ever hopeful......... |

Re: In To-day's Newspapers
In few cases hearing is already completed. Department may pass an order in few cases shortly. Last month following order from ED, property of one Swedish national was confiscated. State government has got that order, Mr. Kishore confirmed..... Foreigners have purchased lakhs of sq mt land in coastal belt of Goa. Was it the property of one Swedish national or two Swiss as reported by TofI, was it confiscated as reported by TofI or were they just fined as reported by at least one web post? ... and why oh why oh why are the British High Commission asking us to co-operate with Anupam Kishore - do they know something we don't or has Digu pulled a snow job on them??? And why the old chestnut about lakhs of sq. metres of land - the only sizable purchases that have been publicly reported were bought by four Russian/ Indian companies and the DofE were complaining that the Goan govt. were not providing information about them, indeed the Goan press have suggested that the whole crackdown on foreigners was a smokescreen to hide these deals. Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Looking at it from the outside (as much by luck than judgement) this is about the most ludicrous situation I have ever seen
...............no smart-arse remarks to follow, just totally ludicrous! |
