My wife is not Goan but of Indian origin.
Reading the threads here, we thought the problems are also caused by the builders. Like going bust or disappearing.
So wondered if buying a ready-built, lived-in property is the way to go.
BTW. Has the Braganza World project ground to a halt?

If your wife is of Indian Origin and you have the right visa you will be o.k.
OTHERWISE DO NOT BOTHER OR YOU WILL LOOSE ALL YOUR MONEY

Sorry If I'm repeating info that may have already been provided to you, but in answer to your question, yes, the people buying in this project have been told that Braganza World has definitely ground to a halt (as they still haven't got permission to build on that land) and we have been told that Churchills (the agents who were dealing with this project) have gone into Liquidation.
The agents that took over from Churchills sent out emails to everyone on the Braganza project telling them to transfer over to a new project 'Tropical Dreams' being built by the same guys.
However, even these agents have resigned due to the political situation in Goa and problems with this build.
I have also recently heard that even the 'Tropical Dreams' project might not be happening. Of course, Braganza Constructions are not replying to anyone's emails, texts or telephone calls.
I hope this information helps.

We are a little concerned that Braganza and others have known of these problems for many months, and we
can appreciate they have not asked for any further installments from us, however they also have failed to keep us all fully up to date on developments, which as their clients we have a right to know about. This is why we have no confidence in any new venture and this is merely stalling tactics on the part of Braganza and why???
We have no guarantees that the new venture they would like us all to transfer to is going to go ahead, therefore as none of us breached the contract and Braganza have failed to supply us with what we have paid for then Braganza is legally obliged to refund us in full all those that wish to have refunds, we being one of them.
If this construction company is well known and has been in business for 25 years or more then surely they have sufficient capital to refund clients that wish to take this option.
The others wishing to move to the new project allowing them that right.

In response to the form I filled in at BW website, few days ago, we had an email and and a phone call from Derek Keith, their english agent encouraging us to pay a deposit before the prices go up!
Unscrupulous salesmen are everywhere.
Way to go is to ask to see important documents such as ownership of the land, planning permission, etc before paying anything. Or buy an established property with help from a reputable and capable advocate.
With all the uncertainties and the recession, an excellent buying opportunity for those who can meet legal requirements.

yes sorry, at work and got distracted.
I set up this thread, for anyone who is involved in the Churchill / Braganza World sitiuation.
I personally reserved a one bed unit in the complex, and have just received the email, stating the agent who took over from Churchill's has resigned.
I have been unable to get hold of Ryan Braganza, but have emailed him formal notice of my intention to pull out of this project and requesting a refund of monies paid.
Hopefully we can exchange info using this thread, and I know some of you are already talking about going legal, for which I have a list of Solicitors in Goa from the foriegn office.
Interested in everyones thoughts / suggestions / Help !!

Please refer to my post nos. 55 & 75 ... I did try and warn people who were planning to purchase on this development ... If only people could heed to warnings and take precautions.
I wish luck to all those who have already paid and are now stuck.
