Weetbix came first and was invented in Australia - they changed it to Weetabix for the British market.

When you watch an hour of blokes in budgie smugglers rowing through surf wearing blue zinc in a t bar on their faces and then tearing up the beach with a wedgie, virginal white inner cheeks jostling for position. It's apparently a national sport 'ocean thunder?' and all the teams have names like 'cottisloe office fit outs'

Genius. More please

I thought you were requesting more genius...

My daughters are trained to call me when the women are on. I spy an opportunity there...
They haven't yet required a reason.

More agressively mark their price down so that they fly off the shelves. Around here they're still selling them for 50% off.

Do other shops in other countries not do this?

Maybe it's just the UK that's different. Over there they can't get the shelves clear quickly enough.

Tesco still have easter eggs that I'm not even sure are half price £1.97 for really small eggs - and they're not even quality cadbury's or anything! Just really naff kids ones. At easter you could get the big ones (the ones that have 2 choc bars incl) buy one get one free- dunno how much cos I didn't buy any but sure it was about £4 - I'm sure I remember they were about £7 each when I was a kid! (Hey, everything else is going up in price every time I blink but at least easter eggs are cheaper once a year )

Well, that blew my argument out of the water

I used to give my kids £20 each in the run up to Easter so that they could pick and grab the moment when it would be the best time to buy. The prices used to fluctuate wildly and were half price or less during some weeks. They also used to watch the price versus grams of chocolate - and that also varied wildly - gram for gram the big eggs working out at multiples of cost compared with the lil' uns. My two rarely came away with less than 10 eggs each.

Slightly different...

You wonder if you've been airlifted to the UK without knowing when you're watching the tv and up pops Dawn French advertising for Coles. WTF? I didn't know she'd ever been to Aus, let alone shopped in Coles. totally bizarre moment

Oh dear!
A bit like Iggy pop and other American stars doing ads in the UK. They figure if it doesn't get shown at home nobody will know what a sell out they are

Was she a shadow of her former self? Would indicate if it was a recent ad or not
