Thinking of moving to Australia?
#62
I think I detect a somewhat tounge in cheek element to your posts! A lot of us 'poms' moving to Australia do so because they have visited before and are charmed by Australia for all sorts of reasons ranging from the simple eg eating Lammingtons and raisin toast to attractive Aussie values such as your egalitarian spirit
Oh yes, such wonderful tasty, healthy food......<barf>Speak for yourself - I moved here so I could throw hard-working and blameless Australian families out on the street. I particularly enjoy eviction day itself, when I wear a large top hat and a monocole and smoke an Alfred Dunhill cigarette through a foot long jet black cigarette holder. As the tenants are removed from the property I let a sneer creep over my unloved pasty white face and, on occasion, I curl my lip very slightly and then look suddenly to the left for dramatic effect.

I was going to let that one go....

I'll do that for you.

I've seen Estate agents sites with "sort after location" to give one example.
Bad spelling, grammar and punctuation happens in all countries - why imply the U.K is worse than anywhere else?

There seem to have been several threads on B.E lately blaming various immigrant groups for their countries woes.
Perhaps people should look to their governments rather than blame average Joe who just wants to take advantage of available opportunities.

The spelling on "Sky News" is terrible.
You know when you press red and you get all the different news windows come up and there's a list of top news items typed out on the right hand side? quite often there are spelling or grammatical mistakes on it.

It's so ironic isn't it. What goes round comes round. The UK gets blamed for everything.

Are you married?
I used to highlight the mistakes in our newspapers as I was so shocked by them, but I suppose it's like anything, you just get used to it. Try looking on teletext, it's even worse than Sky news.
