There's nothing like TV to run away from things like ringing shippers...
We're posting soon (defacto spouse visa) and hoping to head home for Christmas (Woo hoo! Summer here I come!). I'm only here on a two year working holiday visa so I'm not as experienced as you! But good luck, I know you'll love to be back!
Right girls, I'm heading off for a siesta before I start work tonight. Had a rather late night playing in the snow outside!

Hello there! My husband at the moment is listening to the Swans on the internet as he couldn't make it to the game. He will also be watching the rugby Wales v's England game later on.
I have been watching wanted down under, and I can't remember ever seeing a 'media room' It makes me laugh at some of the things that people expect in an Aussie house, or when people complain about the houses being too close together - hello if any of the houses are close together it's the ones over here! In my opinion anyway! It does sometimes wind me up!

Men and their football!!! hehe. Did you not see the media room!!!!!!!!! I can't remember when it was on but I'm sure I saw it on one of the houses some family were being shown. I totally know what you mean about the whole house too close together thing. The people probably have an idea in their mind about Australia about 'wide open spaces' and are probably shocked when reality hits. Kristy - i have to go (its my daughter - she's whinging at me boredom or something - I won't have to worry about that when I let her out into the big backyard in Aus I hope we have and she can pet the frilly lizards!!

), i am so sorry but hopefully catch up later. xx

I was just asking my man about media rooms (I've never heard of one). He was working as a builder on the Goldie before we left and he said they sometimes get them in the really really try-hard-rich houses like the ones they're building at Sanctuary Cove. Personally I wish I was rich enough to own one but I can't see that happening!
I know what you mean about panic! we've been going over our application for weeks and hoping to submit soon, its so nerve wrecking!!
Wanted down under is soo funny. (we watch it on virgin catch up tv) the best so far was the Italian butcher in Perth, he was such a friendly man, real character!!

Hello all
Just a newbie to this site and still learning my way around... so please forgive me if I'm a tad lost !
Applying for PSV imminently and starting to feel the last minute organising my paperwork pressure! I may need to pick some brains at some point but also might just need somewhere I can let off steam amongst people who understand what we're going through! Fiance is the australian one and he is back in Australia whilst I'm stuck in sunny London

And the best of luck to you Rach, although I don't think you'll need it. I think we've all been stressing ourselves way too much over this. For the life of me I can't work out how to stop though!

I sent an email this week to Australia House to see if my application was received and got this reply on Saturday:
Your medical results were received on 17th Decembner 2007.
Your visa application charge was deducted 21st January 2008.
Your application will be allocated to a case officer, who will assess the application within 10 working days from the date of receipt of the visa application charge. Your case officer will contact you using the contact details you indicated on your form 47SP. If you included an email address then this will be the method of contact used.
Fingers cross I'll hear something this week

Thanks for the welcome!
I feel as if I am knee-deep in paperwork and trying not to muddle originals with photo-copies and half the time worrying that I'm not sending enough information and then when I'm worn out worrying over that, I decide I'm sending too much information
I think I've lost my marbles!
Will be keeping you all posted on my progress and looking in hopefully to read some stories of your successes!

Hi
I've been in Sydney for 17 months on a spouse visa, my OH is the Aussie! Just in the process of waiting for my permanent spouse visa to come through.
Look forward to saying 'hi' to others in the same position
