Think I have all documentation together now apart from the medicals.
I think by reading the threads that it may be possible to get the medicals before you send in the application form - is that correct? If so, how do you find the names of the doctors accredited to do it? Bet there's none in Cornwall.
I'm so pleased I've found this site, it is so helpful to a numpty novice like me!
Hi ganoushki - there is a list of panel doctors on www.immi.gov.au but I had a quick look at it for you - there are panel doctors in Plymouth, Tavistock or Barnstaple.......dont know if that helps at all?

See what I mean RachelH? Can't do anything and yes I am blond!!
Do you think I will need an ozzie police check because I was in the country for more than 12 months allbeit 7 weeks of it as an illegal imm. I feel so guilty just writing it! Or will it just bring it to their attention and I'LL GET THROWN OUT BEFORE I GET THERE! Sorry, just having a nervous breakdown.
I don't think I can stand anymore stress. Have to open a bottle, or two.

Dont know about the aussie police checks - may find myself having to get them too as I spent a year in Aus on a WHV many years ago and have been back 3 times since, each time for 3 week holidays which takes me over the 12 months............will just have to wait and see if they rquest them I guess!

Looing at list there is a panel Doc in Redruth area The main application form asks if you have been to Australia and if so dates and visa number-make sure you tell the truth even if it means admitting to overstaying your visa as they will check on their computers and find out anyway and they seem to take a grim view on porkies!

Good news about your house, although a 'little' earlier than you'd planned ! Whereabouts are you planning on moving too ?

ETA: ignore that, I can see Brisbane now !
Hi, Just a quick question did you include copies as well as the originals?
Thanks

We sent some originals and some copies. The originals I sent was the sort of thing you wouldn't really miss if you didn't have them back, but the copies were of things that we wanted to keep...cards etc. We had our copies certified by our friend who is a nurse.

God knows how my OH was granted his visa... I have read many a time on this thread all the bits & bobs people have sent - cards, invitations, joint travel arrangements etc. All we sent was the required forms, required id (pports, birth certs, all originals - no certfied copies), medical, police check & statements from each of us. No cards, no joint invitations / travel arrangements. Maybe it's because we were married with a child that they didn't request anything extra ?? Anyway, sorry to babble on, just thinking about it, & I thought I'd share it with you all !!!

Thanks JoolsB. I got off my lazy arse and looked for myself after RachelH looked for me and found the one in Redruth.
I have been honest on the form but don't want to hold up anything if I can help it and wondered if it might be worth while getting a check done anyway or am I jumping the gun? I probably know the answer to that one already but it is costing a packet and my poor parents are footing most of the bill as it is.
Still, It's my birthday today so I'm going to the Newquay boardmasters championships today in the glorious sun (for a change)!:

Good luck Joolsb - hope you get a quick turn around on the visa and

Happy Birthday Ganoushki

just thought i'd drop in and see how everyone is doing.
We leave in 6 weeks so spend my time panicking about how much i have to do, not doing it and comforting myself with lots of time on here and lots of wine - seems to be doing the trick so far

Help someone!

On Tues & Wed my £620 switch payment was going out of my account as a pending debit but today when I logged into internet banking the transaction has been cancelled & the money re-credited to my account. The bank say it wasn't cancelled by them and that AHC must have done it.

Has anyone else had this happen or have any ideas why?

(Perhaps they were so impressed with OH he's getting it for free)

OMG, wonder what's going on... When did they receive the app? I know it's probably not what most would do, but I'd give them a call. I called them a few times during our 'process', & they were really helpful. (think it's £1 minute though) Maybe someone else can shed some light. Easy to say, but I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

Thanks I think I may email them. It's weird as I know they take payment whatever happens so I cant think of an obvious reason for it..unless it's just a clerical error of some sort.
