I don't know. I do know that they do fags here called "Holiday" cigarettes. Does this mean they're okay to smoke? Like it's okay to smoke, I'm on holiday?!

Seriously, I do love the smoking bans in pubs, where they're in. I remember the first time we went out in Dublin after the ban, and getting up the next morning realising that a - I hadn't craved a fag the whole night, and b - my nice jacket didn't stink to high heaven :)

I had a boss and a couple of colleagues like that in the UK who used to go for regular fag breaks, I got rather annoyed by the extra time they were taking off and decided after a few months that every time they went out for a smoke I would get up and go for a 'passive' with them, my boss wasn't impressed but he couldn't do anything about it as I was only going out when he was going out.

I fu****g hate the nanny state!!!!!

Smoking should be allowed in public when, and only when, it is acceptable for me to drop my caks and have a dump in a public place. Ironically, the dump would be less harmful to bystanders.

It used to be awful when going out for a meal in the UK to find that the smokers and non smoking areas are way too close together and some inconsiderate bastard would spark up a dirty old fag only feet away while we were out eating with our children.
I know go out safe in the knowledge that smoking is a thing of the past in all public places including work which is great and makes a healthier environment for us all.

Smoking kills 20 times more people then other drugs like herorine and cocaine, it should be made illegal like those drugs but it won't be because the governemnt makes too much money taxing it.

It varies from about $8 for a pack of 20 cheapies.

You can buy bigger packs here, up to boxes of 50. The cheapest of those are about $16-$17.

How much does it cost for one of those oxygen tanks with a tube inserted into your throat so you can breath after smoking has destroyed your lungs. Quit smoking.

Have to say, I love the no smoke atmposphere. I often head out to Alhumbra in the Valley, and love the fact that it is fully no smoking!

My gran smoked from the age of 13. She died at the ripe old age of 88.
Not everyone ends up on one of those machines, or dies of lung cancer.
I agree with not inflicting your cigarette smoke on others but if you smoke in the comfort of your own home no one has the right to tell you to quit if you dont want to. At the end of the day the government gets millions in tax from it, where would they get that money if everyone gave up?

Valid Point - that you make - the NHS would finish.
from a packet of Cigarettes say £5 - Tobacco company makes 18% of the price - Government gets 82%. = £4.10

Never noticed an Anti smoking feeling in Australia ? - bars seemed fine as long as you werent lit up at the counter- obviously the outdoor weather means that you'll be able to enjoy a cigarette without hastling anyone.

Agree totally that restaurants or wherever food is should be total non-smoking.
Even as a smoker - cigarette smoke puts me off my food when im eating.

Why not have smoking public houses and non smoking public houses ?

Then you can choose where you go to drink ? Unfortunately my wife is a non smoker and detests sitting in the smoking area .....

Still the pubs the only place I can have a cigarette indoors for now - with UK weather thats not a great thing. The cold will kill me before the cigarettes do.

I plan to quit when I get over there - once I have the healthier lyfestile and outdoor life and evrything doesnt revolve around pubs - cos theres nowt else you can do in the rain.
