Not unladylike at all, my missus is a proper lady when we're out and about, get her home on our own and she farts like a tractor.

God saw fit to remove my sense of smell 8 years ago so I can only grade on volume now

Ah, not talking about cancer or any other hideous thing... Just that whole 'blame' culture of people who do extraordinarily silly things, then blame other people for the results. Just a lack of taking responsibility... Yes, I did this thing, I hold my hands up, it was stupid, I've learnt etc...

The worst thing would be that totally selfish thing where they continue to do what they do, blame everyone and NEVER learn. Now that is surreal.

I actually edited my post... you quoted the unedited one.

And people who blame everyone else for their own misfortunes... They're really sad cases who can't face up to their own mistakes in life.
Remember, where you find yourself at this very moment is down to you and your own thoughts and decisions throughout your life. Don't like it? Change it. Stop blaming other people.
I won't be trying to sell you the latest 'big issue' then

Quite. Or they admit it and say they will change/won't do it again and before you know it ......... the cycle continues.

Well I'm being naughty and not taking responsibility for this assignment due in tomorrow so I had best stop posting on BE until I've done it LOL!

I think there is certainly an element of this, but I can't believe that other external influences, good or bad, might also have been at work. If, however, the experiences were negative there's no need to whinge on about it - it's just the way the cookie crumbles.

TiddlyPom I realise I'm quoting your unedited text.

Na, I've already bought a copy.

PS - selling the BI is a proactive way of getting out of a hole. I'm all for it. I'm specifically talking about people who pass the buck on their own actions onto other people.

I love Australia but these things drive me mad:

1) Taking tiny babies into cinemas who then proceed to cry all the way through the film, (yes I have children) when you have a baby you need to STAY HOME! Until the dark, lights and noise no longer scares them.

2) Having my bag searched as I exit Big W or Coles etc, I now grit my teeth and don't say a word but it still drives me mad, how dare they! If I was going to steal do they honestly think it would be in my bag anyway when I know its going to get searched?????

3) Brisbane drivers not letting me in, yes I am lost, no I know you are not going to let me move into your lane unless I physically bump you into the next one.

4) Fruit Flies around the fruit in Coles and the awful smell around the whole area.

OK vent over will get back to work

Hindsight. I really hate hindsight.

If only I had....

You didn't and there's nothing you can do now and maybe you're a better person as a result. Shut it. Your round, by the way (and bring back some salted peanuts).

We're all guilty of that to some degree I think, as much as anything it's a way of dealing with things. If it's someone elses fault it makes it somehow easier to live with. Having said that I'm a great believer in taking responsibility for what I do and say. Stand by it or apologise for it is my motto.

I think it's a human reaction to want to pass the buck a bit, but stopping and thinking about it first and then taking on board your own part in it can be... what's the word... 'Cathartic'. I think that sort of thought pattern can only make you grow as a person ...
