Pet Hates

So you take your kids to the movies and it's ok, because you know that kids aren't quiet all the way through the movies, and it's only Prince Caspian and you only read all the books when you were a kid, so you're secretly looking forward to it really, and you settle down, laugh at the small town advertising on the screen, and realise that the two kids behind you can't stop talking... but that's ok cos their parents are with them so you think, rather stupidly it seems in retrospect, that they might ask their kids to be quiet and a little considerate to the other people in the theatre, but no... the reason the kids talk constantly throughout the movie is because their parents do too...

'Ooohhhhh, he stabs him! That's just like Julius Ceasar that is!'
'Hang on, this isn't like the book... they never did that in the book!'
'Oooooooooh, wait, here's the bit coming up where the ground collapses'
'Mummy, I don't get this. What's happening?'
'Well you'll have to wait and see won't you!'
'Blah blah blah blah blah inconsiderate yacking moronic chatter'
'I'm a trained monkey'
'I couldn't shut up if my life depended on it'

See, now unless you've paid for my movie ticket and the director has personally instructed you to give a running commentary to everyone in a ten mile radius of your seat because he or she thinks it adds to the movie experience, I don't want to hear your constant stream of diarrhoea-ic drivel, because it drives me absolutely ****ing insane!!!

SHUT UP!

Oh god, yeah I hate that too, really drives me :curse::curse::curse: I once told these three blokes to shush behind me while watching Trainspotting in a London cinema and almost got a slap, so I'm too scared to do it again.

Another pet hate is the knobs (ok, students) who talk all the way through lectures. If they don't want to be there, why are they?!!!!

God, I am sooooo with you on that one. We were at the cinema, Hairspray - and some darling little girl had been allowed to take her doll and pram with her - she proceeded to trawl up and down the aisles, bashing pram into seats and legs, running around at the front, sitting chattering loudly to 'dolly' the entire film, generally telling her that you must be quiet 'at movies'. Tiddler asked if it was ok to stick her foot out and trip the brat up next time she came running past

I don't even know if parents were there. They'd probably gone shopping, thinking the cinema was a creche:rolleyes:

Movie tips:

Always sit in the back row because 1) No one can sneeze or cough down your neck and 2) If anyone in front is being annoying you arm yourself with a box of spitballs and a straw and you blow.....frequently. If they turn round you are just innocently watching the screen....

Exactly, you can't be too sure these days.

Just thought of another! People who have a runny nose who sniff every five seconds for the duration of your hour long bus journey/lecture/movie. Just blow your f-ing nose!!!!!! :curse::curse::curse:

I went to see Narnia last night, not a bad film.

Many kids there, quite well behaved, loads of noisy eaters...and loads of fart smells:huh:

Re: Pet Hates

 Yes, it's very annoying isn't it?

My pet hate is when you ask someone a question and they don't answer it, instead they give you the information they think you really want. Example: In Brisbane, I needed to get across a busy road to a large bus stop island thing, where my bus back home stopped. I couldn't figure out how to get to it though as it was sealed off from the road - I couldn't just cross over. So I figured that I must have to go via an underpass or overpass. There were a set of stairs nearby going underground and I couldn't figure if they went to the car park or connected to an underpass.

So I decided to ask someone. I stopped a couple of ladies and asked:

Me: Do these stairs (pointing) take me across to that bus stop (pointing again)?
Lady: Where do you want to go?
Me: (Pointing at bus stop) I want to go across there.
Lady: But where are you going?
Me: I'm going home.
Lady: But where is home?
Me: (Tell her the name of the suburb - now forgotten)
Lady: Well there is a train station not far from here. The trains stop there. It's very easy to find.
Me: No, I want to get a bus. I can get the bus from over there.
Lady: Are you sure that you can get a bus to (suburb) from there? I don't know myself.
Me: Yes, I'm sure. It's the number XXX. I just need to get across to the bus stop. Do these stairs take me there?
Lady: Oh, I don't know.
:curse::curse::curse:

These types of conversation drive me bloody batty and put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day.

It's very unimportant in the grand scheme of things but I do get irritated by the traffic watch people at roadworks :o The road is carefully coned so you see where you have to go but there's still a Health and Safety numpty with his lollipop waving and pointing to the way I need to go - YES I KNOW! THERE'S NO OTHER WAY!!:curse: I do understand though, they are bored rigid and would rather not be there but bog off!

TV adverts that promise exciting information and deliver buggar all:sneaky:

An advert said "learn how to shop for a family on $21 per week". Hello I thought, that sounds interesting. I'm good with money but I can't see me doing that one so I'll watch and learn:cool:

So I watchthe show, only to see the bloody fookwit tell us to eat things already in your pantry and freezer - that way you only need to spend $21 dollars that week on your weekly shop:blink:

You don't say :sneaky:
