Now, is my last week at work, I'm flying on the 8th of March, and I'm a cocktail of emotions, about leaving my 8 years life in London, leave my friends, weather forecast, the routine I'm running away from, the easyjet-ryanair-trips, my lover, my exes, I'm even enjoying this winter weather it was the worst summer but this winter had been lovely.....but that's what I wanted, I there's not real reason to stay here, don't own property, don't have wife or girlfriend...so Sydney seems to be place for me...I love the beach, surfing and that life style, so if I find also that special one who wants to share the ride with me...it wont get better than that......

As you can see from all this nonsense I'm writing, how emotional you can get when you're close to make the big move.

love to every one, and good luck!

Hey welcome!! Glad you have finally found us.

Good luck on the move, I'm very jealous of the fact that on the day I will be sat in a classroom sitting my IELTS exam, you will in-fact be flying off out to Sydney!

Not sure if it's on the same subject, but....

I baked my first cake on Saturday!

I thought that if I'm going to be living alone, and I don't find a woman quick enough, I'm going to have to work out how to feed myself other than using the microwave. I'm ok at the moment, as the other half does it, but she isn't coming.

I also need to work out how to use a washing machine, iron clothes etc. :o

All part of growing up, I'm afraid. When you can do all this alone, you will know you are with someone for all the right reasons!! How did the cake turn out:eek:

It was lovely.

Chocolate sponge with Nutella in the middle and white icing on the top. Awesome.

Oh, and from my previous post, I wasn't implying that I expect a female to do the jobs for me!! :o Just that I need one to teach me, as I wish I could do it, so I'm learning now in advance! So I will be even more of a catch!!

nice job on the cake, xzibit. Have you told your lady that you're upping sticks yet? I'm wondering how you are surviving under the same roof, with that lead balloon hanging over you?

Those washing machines are bloody tricky. Just about got mine figured out.
Ironing can do but really hate it. the cookings the easy bit (well I would say that being that I'm a chef)

Yes, kind of. I haven't said that I'm 100% going yet, more like I am taking the IELTS and Vetassess to check my eligibility. :D

When I submit the application it will be crunch time, and I feel that shortly after the repercussions of that will start to appear.

I'm selling my self short tbh!

I can cook basic meals, and iron my own clothes. Still not 100% figured out washing machines unless they have a simple twisty knob on the front though.

I'm just "tuning" my abilities.

Mines one of those simple twisty knob ones can't handle all those buttons reckon you'd have to be doctor who to figure them out

Thanks you all for words of encouragement - I will not give up. I have a way round it but it will take me longer thats all. I am also looking at other options now such as employer sponsored and state sponsored (although the opportunities are limited in NSW - but maybe WA aint that bad?). I will be in Oz by the time I am 35 (July 2009) hopefully much much sooner.

However, I cannot cook, clean, do laundry, shop, look after or feed myself! However will I survive????

Down the beach with a mini mal and a 6 pack of pure blonde thats how!!!!!
