Telly is a sony TV/DVD/VIDEO thing. Bought for £550 about 3 years ago.

Computer is a mesh computer.Bought for £500 2 years ago. Sell with the printer and computer stand.

Hoping i can get £200 for the computer and £200 for the Telly package.

I will buy a laptop here before i go. Wish i bloody bought one rather than this computer now so i would not have to sell.

Hope to sell my sofa's with the flat. Beds and other furniture i will sell with the flat also. I have the biggest university in europe 2 miles from my flat. Student central now.

Hoping a buy-to-let inverstor snaps it up.

The leather sofas wont fit back through the front door. I would have to hire a lift thing to put them out on the window. Im on the first floor.

Just other bits and bobs i have.

Even though I won't be leaving for at least 10 months, I'm still currently trying to decide on what to take, and what not to take. As I've moved back home to save up, I really only have limited stuff to take.

I'm going to take my cd's and dvd's as even though most of the music is on my ipod, it's all familiar stuff which I will need. I'll take my laptop with me too, and maybe a few photos and a few bits and bobs, but only a few small boxes worth. I'll just go on a huge shopping spree when I'm there and buy loads of new stuff.

hi all

pony that is rubbish, is that including the bonus IELTS points too? I'm sure there are sponsorship options you can look at, state sponsored maybe? Hope you work it out.

nothing new with me, had a reunion with old uni pals at the weekend who i don't suppose i'll be seeing again for ages, had the ex in touch which has stirred up some feelings (nothing will stop me going now though).. so yeah, same here really, starting to get even more sentimental the closer i am to leaving. I will even miss green and pleasant england! But I'm 25 and life is out there!

have had my meds in for 9 weeks and not verified yet so need to call up tonight.

job offer people want me out there asap, so think that one will fall through. Wage was a bit crap but great company, big contracts (NRL, AFL, telecomms giants etc!). Might move over to architectural visualisation (3D stuff) as good money there - advertising would be my ideal though.

But overall i'm feeling awesome about it all! It's all going to work out, like all things do when you focus and go for it!

sounds like we are having mixed success in here! Everyone will get there. I also had to do an extra year or so to get experience, just kept my eyes on the goal! Which was hard having moved back with parents to middleofnowhereville where none of my best friends are closer than 2hrs away! Been a slow year!

that also leaves me in the positon of having no ties, nothing worth shipping. I can leave when i want, bar giving notice at work. I'll be taking a load of books, some cd's, and my clothes, plus a disk drive with my work on. Everything else i will get over there! new life!

take care all

well, break ups etc happen anywhere, so it depends if you'd rather be feeling broken hearted in slough (or wherever!), or in the sunshine with a pint having spent the day surfing and enjoying the views of bikini clad aussie babes..!

you know it makes sense!

glad you're on track mate.

Architectural Visualisation, now if there is a lot of money in that, maybe I will aim for that eventually too, as I have done some of that where I currently work! :D
I know what you are saying about crap wages to start off with, but it's a foot in the door. They can only go up (we hope).

Well I'd quite like $120-$140k a year thb.

Nah, I'll be happy with $40k plus to begin with, which if I don't get, I'm going to McDonalds or Hungry Jacks!!!

My Mother has just sent me a text message saying "You have a letter from Australia"

Now that's just teasing me - I'm going to get her to open it.

If your visa allows it, I'd really recommend contracting. A lot of companies in Oz contract staff for 6-12 months, and a number on rolling contracts thereafter. Sure you don't get the sick and holiday pay, but the extra cash more than balances it out and makes it more than comparible to the Uk. :-)

holy crap that's exciting!

150k is about right for a 5-star mcdonalds employee isn't it? or have i grossly miscalculated what i'm going to be earning?

forgot to add... not to everyone's cup of tea, but if you're young free and single the contracting lifestyle is worth considering ;-)
