I believe you moved here to be with your parents? Pots and kettles spring to mind. :) |

I'm not defensive about Aus I am totally offensive about the majority of shops that people on here miss in the UK. When I lived in the UK I avoided Next and M&S like the plague and would have a minor panic attack going into Tesco's or Waitrose, could just about manage Sainsbury's and Asda. I hated those shops and I am no different now I'm here. You don't know anything about me and what my history is so please don't assume that just because I don't like something you do or that I do like something you don't that I'm being pro Aussie and Anti Brit because you'd be 100% wrong :D
I love Britain, it's one of the best countries in the world. However I also love Australia and love living here. I was in the UK for 40+ years and now I'm trying the other half here. My life is good and was good - I have nothing to complain about so I pick on Next because to my mind it's an easy target. It's shit imo. There is only one other thing I complain about a lot on here and that is generalisations on any subject. Whether it be people saying the UK has gone to the dogs or others saying Aus doesn't have something when they've not experienced the whole country. Some one on here called meg asked me for info. I posted something that could have been of interest to that lady albeit a bit negative (australia day fights). To ensure a balance at the same time I posted an even bigger negative about the UK (teenager dies of yet another stabbing in uk). You closed the thread I believe because you didn't like it, not because you could not see the point of the thread. |

Yea - one of the reasons we moved here was because my parents are very old now and will need increasing amounts of help doing the standard day-to-day stuff. Not really a comporable situation though, is t? :D
No...but its close enough for me to be able to pull you up about it.... and I thought Argos had gone bust...or was that just wishful thinking on my part. :) |

It was Index that went bust. I know Argos is still going because my Aunt works there and I only spoke to her the other week. |

Wishful thinking. They must have fairly low overheads - and let's face it, it's not a luxury brand - so I reckon they'll do okay out of the recession. ;)

Not sure why your 'double standard' troops got mobilised! Haven't seen a negative post about the UK in ages. Or are these recent spate of attacks just exercises in the old Cold War.. |
