Hi,

I was on the duromine for a while. Be careful you won't be able to sleep and you just don't eat. It is a harsher version of Reductal. My doctor was not happy about me having it but tried it just for a while. Glad I will never have to take it again.

This is my 3rd day out of hospital and I feel great. Don't ache half of much and not at all hungary. Need to try to get a bit more liquids down today to keep the metabalism. up. Yesterday all I had was 1 optifast and water all day. It took me 6 hours to get the optifast down. Aiming for 2 today and a bit of soup.

I just can't get over how well I am feeling and I slept heaps better last night.

Hey All,

Just a bit of an update, went to see the surgeon and dietician today. It has been 2 weeks since my surgery and I have got to say I feel fantastic. Both surgeon and dietician are really pleased with my progress.

I am down 18kg's in approx 6 weeks. Dietrician said that I would probably loose the next 20kgs pretty quick over the next few months and then it should slow down to about.3-4 kgs per month.

I am allowed to eat foods now as long as they are soft and have lots of gravy or sauces.

I have got to say this is the best thing I have done.

Northerbird how are you doing ? Are you feeling as good as me ? Got to say it is quite scary how good I feel.

That is fantastic news, well done you. I also feel pretty good, my weight loss is slow but you know what I am happy with it and I am unable to overeat so that is pretty much the outcome I wanted. My skin is great, my hair is great and I feel so much better for not putting as much crap in my body and doing a bit of exercise. I have gone down a few bra sizes and 2 sizes in clothes and bought my first shirt from a 'normal' shop this past week. I am glad it is also having the desired effect on you.

I saw Dorothy today, it was nice to see her and it is her turn next.

Hopefull Sam will pop by with an update over the weekend.

I can attest to how great NB looks. Like she said, her skin looks so clear and healthy, her hair looks great and she just looks overall healthy. You girls are a real inspiration for those of us who are about to undergo the procedure.

I've been for my ultrasound and so far so good. The radiologist said my organs look fine. Dietician and anaesthetist middle of next month and then surgery 23 April. I'm nervous and excited all at the same time.

Keep the updates coming!!

Hi
I am now also at the two week stage and have lost 6.5kgs. The last week of liquids have been hard although I don’t crave food but I do crave something to chew, so I have been having some mushed up fish to help with that and I did have some noodles and chicken on Friday.

I can definitely say it’s the best think I have done. Its just great to have back control on what I eat.

My head is swelling! Thanks ladies for all your kind comments, they really do help boost the self confidence. I am now in double digit weight which to all you slim peeps won't be a big deal but to me its like winning the lottery. I haven't been the weight I am since before my youngest was born so about 6 or so years. Thanks again

Well done NorthernBird! I have only just discovered this thread I seem to stick in one thread here! I had Lap-Band surgery in September and have lost 15kgs, I have only just found restriction on my last fill two weeks ago, and now I am actually having to learn to eat slow or it is very painful. Still having trouble eating the 'right' foods though and cravings are hard to beat. Ice-cream and other diary foods are my downfall.
If anyone is interested I started a Lap-Band forum as the only one's around seem to be Yahoo groups and they aren't as easy to navigate as forums are. It is still new and we need some members that are willing to be chatty. If you sign up I have to activate you before you can post (this helps avoid the spammers) but I get on to it pretty quick.

Congratulations.
You can certainly tell from your pic like mentioned earlier - your face is much slimmer.
Keep us posted and plenty of pics!!!!
