How has your day been?

Re: How has your day been?
Now the football season is over here I'm having a few dry weekends, I reckon my memory has improved a lot. Got to take some tablets that put my liver under stress soon so will have to go even more dry for a while. Should be interesting to monitor the effects.
It's kinda anti social though.... Not sure how to bridge that gap yet.

Re: How has your day been?
Saw the surgeon today. Tibial tubercle transfer +/- MPFL reconstruction booked in for next week..........to say I'm bricking it is an understatement! On some lovely red calming wine at the moment before I explain to the other half what I was told this afternoon. I knew most of it from previous appts but I think it's sinking in now. Have been putting it off for a year.
Darn wobbly knee.......
Think I may be on here a lot more in the next few weeks as I'll be largely immobile........hahaha - mainly and largely immobile!!!

Good luck with it all - can you explain what MPFL is? Is it a ligament or something???

Re: How has your day been?
Went to the Home Show in Sydney -it was a bit disappointing this year. So with a few hours to spare, OH dragged me off to the shops, into a hairdressers and got me a cut and colour and conditioning treatment. I'm a whole new woman - coppery blunt cut bob instead of greying straggly locks. Also had foils for the first time in my life- chocolate colour about 6 of them so subtle lowlights. I just hope I can style it as well as the hairdresser- I asked for easy-care as I'm totally cack-handed with hairdrying/straightening.

Hopefully it'll stabilise my kneecap so it doesn't slide around and out like it does at the moment....

Re: How has your day been?
I'll be on crutches for about 6 weeks. Straight leg brace for 2 weeks. MPFL recon is where they use a bit of a tendon (from me) drill a hole in the kneecap and tether it with the tendon......the TTT is where they break the tibia where the patellar tendon inserts and move it into a different position with screws......ooooch!!
