I live on a dead end lane(30mph limit) with a garage at the bottom and irresponsible a*seholes speed down it several times a day meaning I don't like my kids playing out on the pavement. There's never a copper out there to catch them.
I always drive at 30mph or under when it's a 30 limit because it's usually a residential area.
on a 60mph dual carriageway I'd happily drive at 65 without worrying at all.

I set the speed control on my car to make an audible beep when I reach 58KPH so I know to take my foot off the gas and slow up a little.
