Got my first speeding ticket!!! (moaning thread)

Yes I got my first speeding ticket whilst driving to work on a Sunday morning at 06.40 am! Thing is, the area I was in was where the speed drops from 90 to 70 km and I was doing 81km which clearly indicates I was reducing speed! How is that fair???? And as usual the sneaky B######s were hiding behind bushes when they got me! Result...............$100 fine and one point! Don't these police have anything better to do? Why don't they get the real speeders and idiot drivers out there? Rant over but still fuming!!!!!!!:curse:

Um yes but the speed drops from 90 to 70 on the freeway and you cannot be expected to hit 70 immediately from a speed of 90km, especially when there is other traffic on the road, they'll end up in your boot cos they drive so close anyway.

I know how you feel. I have had a few since being here. If you are not watching the inside and outside lanes, you are having to watch the odometer and speed limits which change regularly on the same stretch of road, sometimes for what appears no obvious reason. I usually drive with the cruise control on but then this doesn't help when the speed limit is going up and down like a prossies knickers!!
BTW - does anyone know if the points will be on my licence when I finally get round to getting an Australian one?

but the point is that the speed limits are limits, not targets, so that you should slow to 70 when approaching the 70 zone so that when you enter it you are driving at a legal speed.

And how many drivers do that, including the police cos I have seen them do exactly the same as I did. As for hiding behind bushes and at the bottom of hills where cars have naturally speeded up because of the descent, aren't they supposed to display that they are monitoring speeders? All I can say is that this type of sneaky behaviour is a nice revenue earner for them! Its no wonder the police here get BIG discounts at restaurants and other places, its because they make so much money out of us lot.
Its not fair, I'm going off to sulk!!!!!

NO I was reducing my speed to that of the speed zone I had entered actually! It equates to about 5mph over the limit, big deal! Its all about revenue for the police.
