Ooh, 5 for 156. The hill just got steeper.

But what was Bell thinking? Gul lobs a lollipop and Bell gently pats it straight to cover point.

After the match fxing trial and being forced to play away from home all credit to Pakistan. England have a lot to learn from this but at least I have hope they will when previously I had none.

Very different innings from the England batsmen compared to others in the series. Pretty much all of the batsmen have been able to occupy the crease for decent amounts of time but unable to convert it into runs.

It's clearly been a bowler's series and to me, both sides' attacks have been about on par, not much to separate them. However, the Pakistani batsmen have handled the pitches that much better than the England batsmen and are the difference in the series, even though they haven't ben that great.

You must be a very happy man

England have actually done better in the last innings than my expectation but it won't be enough.

Broadly speaking, I think it may be game over soon.

7 for 196. Broad tried to take a slash, but Pakistan was waiting for him.

Swann gawn then the Full Monty ... 3-0?

Credit to Pakistan, a top bowling performance that has shown up England's batting weaknesses.

Much to do before a trip to Sri Lanka, a few 'ker-ching!' ODIs against the convicts and then the easy pickings of a home series against SA.

yep lots of batting practice needed, but we should remember that Pakistan have the best spin attack in the world, by a mile! India's spinners are nowhere near as good and since Murali retired SL are a shadow of their former self.

8 for 206.

I chose the wrong night to pull this oil heater out of the wall. What with all the running back and forth between my office and the lounge, I keep missing all the action!

In the end, you can argue that England lost this in the field too. They dropped Azhar on 84 and went on to make 157.

With the lead now down to under 100 that is costly and quite possibly the difference!
