Re: The Cricket Thread
20 actually, a graphic came up which said about India's last 20 tests at home which included no defeats - 17-0-3; now 17-1-3.
India lost 20 wickets before the end of the 3rd day (so did Australia); I doubt if the toss had any bearing and it's purely conjecture but lessen the achievement if you must so you've got some 'expert analysis' on how 'we' should do better. 'O'Keefe's inning'

Re: The Cricket Thread
Was that, sorry I was wrong about the number of unbeaten tests for India and I don't know what I was thinking when I said O'Keefe's inning?
"India, who had not lost a home Test in 20 matches since a 2012 defeat to England in Kolkata," from the Guardian so therefore incorrect.

Re: The Cricket Thread
India is the country which insisted for yonks that there be no DRS in their series home and away. Perhaps they aren't practised in in the use of it?
I've always thought if you get the talisman Kohli out cheaply twice you are well on the way to beating India. It's doing that which has proved difficult for all teams as he is an exceptional batsman.
Discussion points.

1 loss in 21 tests to put it in perspective. Are you referring to Smith being lbw - they'd used them up and couldn't review but maybe you are saying in hindsight they shouldn't have used up their two so they still had one?

Lack of practice for sure.
Should be a good series now.

India v Australia: Bengaluru Test: I have never seen two Aussie spinners put so much pressure on India, says Sourav Ganguly - Times of India

Re: The Cricket Thread
Let's hope Australia can grind it out again today and get a really useful lead in the first innings. Pretty sure they don't wanna chase too big a total batting last.
150 run lead would be huge and they might even bowl India out for less than that.

I'm somewhat surprised and if they are honest with themselves, so should Australia

Re: The Cricket Thread
There could be a reason India are off their home prime and something to do with the much improved opposition who learned to change to a younger team with some new faces after 2-0 vs your lot. Credit where credit is due and not so much of the luck and surprise I'd say.
