l think the statistics show Indians don't get attacked more then anyone else in OZ, if they do its probably becasue so many work in dangerous jobs like late night Taxi drivers and so many live and travel in poorer parts of the cities.

Well I started reading it and quite quickly starting thinking, this is a load of crap. I lived through the Schapelle Corby and Annice Smoel stories and I must say Sam's take is more than a little blinkered. Yeah there were some papers printing stories about their innocence but there were more printing stories about how stupid they had been. Sorry Sam but you're talking out of you blinkered behind.

Yeah Sam, I agree that the police should have done better but they should have done better across the board this is not just about Indians.

Sorry Sam. Nice opinion piece but you need to make it a bit more objective. However I will say that it's not a bad as the one I saw the other day which stated that Kevin Rudd was agreeing there was racism in Australia because the crime rate is very low. Now, linking low crime rate to racism takes some stretching.

The positive thing is that even crap and blinkered views are good to make us think.

Indians in OZ murder each other, set themselves on fire in insurance scams, go walking through parks in gang ghetto suburbs alone at 2am in the morning, then say the attacks happen because Aussies are racist white supremist KKK.

I'm going to write to the Indian Embassy and complain about the poor quality of Indian criminals they're sending us these days. I mean come on, this guy couldn't even carry out a basic insurance fraud!

I heard on the radio that some of the attacks in Melbourne was believed to have been carried out by other racial minorities, it might be the case that these attackers are not Australian at all (maybe only PR) or that they have been naturalised Australians.

I am not so sure about Melbourne but I know in Sydney that a lot of recent Indian Immigrants and Students tend to live near Parramatta or Wentworthville which has a high population of immigrant minorities and to be honest some of those places would be very risky walking around dead of night.

There were 176,427 recorded assaults in Australia in 2007, constituting 840 victims per 100,000 of the population.
