As I understand it, the Indian legal system is established upon the principle that your guilt is inversely proportionate to the size of the bribe you're prepared to pay.

 I flew with Air India from London to Chicago once and it was interesting watching the Indian movies. In one they had a court scene where everyone started shooting each other (even the judge). |

As for what I am saying about the way the media handled the reporting of these crimes, read my post #321. |
Re: 2nd Indian found dead
Don't know about intelligence but it would be a good start if people could tell the difference between a news report and an opinion piece. Obviously it hard to tell the difference in the Indian media. ;)

Re: Racist Indian attack faked
The source you quote for Melbourne - relates to the Melbourne Police Service Area - with an assault rate of 2628.7 per 100,000 and an actual number of 2133 - that makes its population about 81,000. Last I checked the population of what most people refer to as 'Melbourne' was c. 4m so I assume the PSA is the CBD and some other inner ring suburbs - a high crime area. The figures for Melbourne as a whole are very much closer to the national average and include those suburbs of the city where many of these incidents have taken place. If you really think the numbers quoted by the police commissioner in the quoted article relate to the Melbourne PSA then that would suggest that more than 40% of assaults and robberies in 'Melbourne' had Indian victims? |

No - what I'm pointing out is that the two assault rates given by ABC are in fact not comparable - if they were comparable the 1000+ assaults on Indians would constitute more than 40% of the total number (that was used to derive the 'Melbourne' assault rate).

Victoria is 403 per 100,000 Yet the Melbourne Police figure, presumably for the City centre, is 2,628. apple with oranges? Crime in two different areas ? Maybe Gala Apples against Granny Smiths ;) but no oranges :D It is feasible to expect, without having exact data, that the incident rate per nationality, may be similar in all parts of Melbourne, on average. |
