You got that Youtube working Sam?
Damn thing is the blame for me goin to bed at gone 3am for the last 4 nights ...
I know we've all done the 'search for an old track' on Youtube, but there's something quite convenient about doing it from your TV remote ...

hmmm..
rang telstra to get a bundle - t-box, phone and internet.
got told can get adsl2 so wait for a modem; waited a week and rang them, only to be told cant get adsl2 - but can definitely get adsl.
went through the order process again.
waited 10 days.
rang them only to be told i cant get any internet through them whatsoever - but would i like the 'wireless' option. i'd rather nail my balls to the mast of a sinking ship then mess about with that. very disappointed
rang various other providers, and iinet said can get adsl upto 1.5meg for $x; asked if thats is the max speed, the 'consultant' said no you can get up to 8meg - obviously when i asked what is the fastest internet i can get here she never understood.
rang telstra to cancel order.
woman asked why as her systems show i can get adsl2 and adsl. am now waiting until wednesday as my order was still 'provisioning'.
arse or elbow - do they know which is which?
so
i'll have some half decent internet. if the adsl does come i'll be upping to the adsl2. right chew on if you ask me.

I waited for over 30 months on a iinet ADSL plan for them to install their equipment at our local exchange, and watched as all the other exchanges around us became upgraded. Then I received a phone call from Telstra offering me a ADSL2 25gig package (this was about 3 years ago) at a really cheap rate. Within 5 weeks they allowed IInet Dslams into that exchange.... I beleive that Telstra phoned all the IInet customers on that exchange and offered them this special deal.... I cancelled with Telstra about 6months into a 24 month contract incurring a 180 buck cancellation fee....but I wanted to get rid of the cynical priicks !
I've been back with IInet for about 2 years now, and they really are the best provider I've been with.

Its gonna be $120 to have one extra phone socket put in for the T box and if I want one in my spare room, it will be $200 in total, so we are saving up for it.
Very impressed though.

It probably means they havent installed the Dslams as of yet, and getting that information out of them is really difficult. I believe its a case of Telstra not allowing space or access to the other telcos in their exchanges which is the problem.

I'm going on the 200gb plan, but not the bundle. Don't forget if you hardly use the phone, go on the low user plan @ $21. So 200gb adsl2+ and phone line is $101. With my old provider I could ony get 130gb for that and only adsl 1.5mb and an extra $30 for the phone.

My son speaks to girlfriend EVERY night for 1 - 2 hours, and to her mobile too, so obv worth every penny to us! ...
Also there's something quite nice about knowing that as long as you're calling inside Australia, don't matter to who or what network etc, it's a free call! All the extra services (caller ID, 3 way chat etc) are handy too.

We only have the phone really so Dad can call us.
