I had 50g with Optus and never ever went over 5g.

Only 4 days That is alarming, do you download movies and stuff?

Oh I hear this every day, and agree they're useless at times (most of em), but It's just too good a deal I had to eat humble pie as always said i'd NEVER go back!

I think there are movies on demand as well.
Naaah, none comes off your allowance, but the actual using of it HAS to affect your download speed ability, I woulda thought.

Will see!

I got 200gig, but that includes uploads!! It's what made me leave em before, but with 200 I'm as good as 100% sure it'll be enough, uploads or not!

With UKNova I get max speeds and dl a couple of Big Brothers earlier in literally minutes each (400mb ea).

Ok, it's not cheap at $159pm, but that's free calls to anything in Oz, the T-Box, and when they finally get the international call restriction off my line (GRRRR!!!), i'll get $10pm to call abroad. Cheap as chips rates like Uk 2cpm = hours and hours! Use skype personally, but there if I want or need it.

So far so good! ...

I upload vids to facebook and youtube, never gone over before - hope I will be OK on 25g though.

I use a phone card to call the UK and Aussie calls come off my mobile so we have the phone and no frills on that one.

Cant wait for my T box, do you know what we get with the Tbox? Is it youtube/music and then we pay for movies?

we're on the new TPG "broadband plus homephone" deal. for $59.99 per month you get:

500gb (150/350, uploads are counted)
proper phone line including line rental fees. You only pay for calls that you make..... Local /national =25cents per min, mobile = 39c. (phone calls aren't cheap, but this isn't a big deal as we make the majority of our calls on VOIP or mobile.)

Must admit it's very tempting - particularly since I got such shite service from Internode last time I had problems. Only thing I'd miss is the newsgroups - but I can get a monthly account for $11 for that, so it's definitely doable. Very tempted.

So I email them, never expecting a reply, but what the heck. Got a call back 3 days later apologising for the delay and offering to terminate my contract and recontract under the new plans. Done deal, thanks very much.

Then I look at the new bundle plans they have. $159 a month gets :

200 Gig of broadband Fast ADSL or ADSL2
A TBox thing for watching movies rented or pause free to air etc
Unlimited home phone plan including calls to ALL AU mobiles free, Standard and National calls free. Throws in the international value calling pack so calls to the UK are $0.02 per min and gives $10 credit.
They chuck in a wireless modem router also, although I would stay with my Apple one.

Thats a stupidly good deal. All I have to do now is get over the fact that it's Telstra. I can't believe I'm actually thinking about switching to them.

They get a fair bagging for good reason for time to time but I guess moves in the right direction also deserve some note as well.
Were with telstra and currently have 5gb per month at $85 and our two mobile phones which cost about $120 per month.
I think its a great deal and will be going for that.

Cheers for the info

Kim

I'm on a $49 Telstra business mobile plan and they have just doubled the call allowance, so I'm happy with that.

For Telstra that does sound impressive!

We get it all separately from different providers. Our broadband is through TPG, for $49.99 per month we get ADSL2+ (with speeds of approx 22Mbps on average as we are really clsoe to the exchange), with 180GB download a month (90GB peak and 90GB off peak). I never really use that allocation. I used to when I had a limit of 25GB.

TPG do seem to be putting out some good deals at the moment. They are not available on our local exchange though so I'm stuck with iinet - who are also very good.
