Hey Gary I have a wee question for ya

When you had Hollie, did you have to register her birth with the British Embassy? Just been doing a bit of research and the Aus gov website is soooo confusing!!!

Hey there,

It's Vikky here, Gary's wife.

We didn't get Hollie's Birth registered with the embassy. As far as i'm aware, as long as we've got our marriage certs and her birth certs to prove she was born 'in wedlock' and has at least one of us that's British then she shouldn't have a problem getting her British passport. I know that's pretty much what I had to do when I applied for my British passport. Although they could have changed that by now, I'm not sure.

But as yet, we haven't registered Hollie's Birth.

Hope this helps.

Vikky

Hey Vikki

Hmmmn I'm not sure that would be the same for us then as we aren't married. I think I'll just have to ring and find out what I should do.

Have a nice camping trip by the way!

Great news about your citizenship test now being booked! Better start revising!

Sorry to hear you guys have had loads of rain, but i guess in some places it's really needed... The weather's been great here over the weekend and today - actually quite warm in the sun - mean't to be 17degrees in places today

I'm just catching up today with housework/washing etc after a very hectic weekend with Eden's 6th birthday, her party and my 25 hour trip to join friends at Butlins in Bognor Regis!!! I'm knackered today and very glad i'm not back to work till tomorrow afternoon!
Sounds like you had a fab, albeit hectic weekend. Lets hope next years is in Tassie

Hi Possums, is the citizenship test a multiple choice type thing or just a question and answer thing? Have heard the book can be quiet daunting! I hope they are not too harsh as I go to pieces in test!! lol

Vikky again!
Not a problem i think these days! my sister applied for my nieces British passport, now people born after a certain date could have their mother or father as Brits and be entitled, it used to go off your father's side.

Don't think it would be a problem to register the birth with the British Embassy in Melb. a friend of mine registered her daughter's birth with the US but she had to get it done by the time she was 5 or 6 months old i think, can't remember exactly now.

Hi

Hope you have a good weekend camping Gary

Good luck for the citizenship test Possums, I did the on the citizenship website and did ok, but I reckon most Aussies wouldn't know many of the answers, it was the sports questions that let me down!

Well, after my 2 interviews, I have decided to accept the job at the maternity unit, they have offered me the hours I wanted and it seems like a nice place to work. I've got an inductiond day on the 6th April but don't have a starting date as yet, HR have got to process my application etc.

So no more enjoying the sunshine in the garden, back to the world of work, I haven't worked since the middle of June last year, it's going to be a shock to the system, especially doing night shifts again

Sam

wow sounds like every little girls dream party weather is great now still very warm so yep you should be outdoors next year.. as long as it isnt like Sat gawd the rain!!

I always fancied one of those butlin weekends, always look really cheesy but I have mates who said they are great. besides Butlins just conjours up such a bygone era

it makes absolutely no sense to me but apparantly its called a price range (with the bottom price being one that is acceptable to the vendor)

after googling I found that In using a price range, the upper figure cannot exceed 110% of the lower figure. For example $500,000-$550,000 or $250,000-$275,000.

I hear the weather is really nice over there at the mo

Hi Possums Crikey does sound more complicated than i thought, but then again enough people get their citizenship each year it cant be too bad!
Glad the weather is still warm for you guys.
and thanks for the price range info again - i thought that might be what it was - silly i think!
