I only do photos, keep saying to my wife she should do some more painting she did a few in the UK and has also had a few lessons for Chinese painting.
My wife also spins wool and does knitting and crocheting so hoping that once she can get more done we can look at selling some of that stuff.
You should get lots of paintings and go to one of the local markets to sell them.
We still need to arrange to meet up sometimes Possum, Once I find out when Im off next at weekend will sort something out.

Hi I used to do night classes when I was younger, did some jewellry making but I too found it too fiddly! did ceramics which was great but you really need a kiln and space to do that kind of stuff not cheap.

I can do plain knitting but my mum used to do aaron and lots of complicated work I could never catch on to it. Ha ha you'll have to learn to do it like the german woman, they knit with both hands never turning the needles round


you know i've never been in that gallery at lilydale (well its about 4k outside isnt it, I always see the sign when I go past) but a woman has just moved here from the main land and reckons she's selling quite a bit down there? just get a couple framed and give it a go Gary.

yes we will def meet up, sorry we never go to do it at festivale we were meeting a lot of people and it all got a bit mad. should have swapped phone numbers, I did look for a gathering of people near the main entrance but like a needle in a haystack really!

HI, I konw the gallery its called the appleshed, Its in a place called Lala, The picture I took for Festivale was took near there at the Providance vinyard. They have some lovely wine but don't think any Tassie wine is bad.

I've never tried pottery of any description - but to be honest if i had the time i'd like to have a go at anything like that really.
Thanks for that link - that ladies work is stunning - no wonder she's making a living out of her stuff - i'll need a heck of a lot of practice to get up to her standard. I love her mosaics & mirrors - they are fab. Good job she's not based near me now - otherwise i'd be buying a few bits i've seen on her website, especially a couple of the tiffany style lamps - they're what i have at home myself...her prices seem quite reasonable to me compared to what i've seen for similar pieces over here...

We were meant to have a viewer at 1pm today - he was a no-show. Most annoying as we'd changed our plans for today to fit around the time this guy was meant to come. Does make me angry that they dont let the agent know they cant make it or have changed their minds. Still, at least the house is spotless.

Yes, still miffed about the viewer - looks like we've picked another useless agent as well, found out last week that the branch we should be under have transferred their "sales" to a different office - not far away from us but it means that people coming into the other office aren't necessarily looking at our area... Now we're wondering if that will have an impact on how many viewings we do get. Also, never heard why this guy never turned up
Going to give it another couple of weeks and may give notice with this agent and change to another one...
My incentive to get a move on with the house sale has increased somewhat today - have had an awful day here at work - found out the whole of my portfolio of work is being offshored (starting next week) to India. I knew it was coming eventually as other people's work went ages ago, but i was hoping to hang onto mine till i left. One thing they neglected to tell me was that i would have to train the guy taking the work back with him - how that will work with the hours i work i have no idea but he arrives in the UK on Monday. To say i'm peee'd off about it is an understatement!!!!
It's most frustrating because they will be doing our work in our names (i feel that is sooo wrong - and anything they cant handle or is too difficult will just be sent back to us anyway! )
My boss knew i was angry - he actually asked me on his way out of the office tonight whether i would be coming back tomorrow or not I said i'd think about it!
Whinge over.....

I think some area's of the country are getting more affected by the recession than others & i know certain trades are starting to suffer quite a bit, things seem to have a knock on effect . They anticipate things will still get worse before they get better over here. The unemployment figures are becoming very worrying. I was reading the Mercury Tasmania online paper thing the other day and that also was mentioning about rising unemployment on the Island? do you hear much about that? It was saying about some logging companies etc putting their staff onto 4 day weeks - i know thats something quite a few UK co's are doing now...

we do Logging cartage and our work slows right down which is a pain because our boss usually drives a Log truck but hangs around the office being cranky instead

But the agent spoke to him and he's going to ring him when he returns friday week... he remembered our property which is good sign seeing as he put in so many other offers. So much for bold moves eh?
