Hi Everyone

Tragic about the fires in Victoria hey? Can't even imagine what that would be like.

We haven't been up to much, helped as Race Marshalls at the Tahune Mountain Bike race on saturday, was very soggy, didn't stop raining all morining - the poor bike riders were muddy and frustrated.

Don't forget Taste of the Huon is on the weekend of the 13th March, BBQ at our place Saturday arvo, all welcome! PM me for address.

Hope everyone is well.

Our little cat got run over outside our house yesterday, very sad. Kids are devasted. No more cats for us. Looking for a lap dog if anyone hears of any puppies around would be interested!

OMG Possoms you were just down the road from us! Another spit and a fart and you would have been in our paddock!! You should come down more often we need more rain!! lol We went to Richmond yesterday for some dinner and a change of scenery, it was very nice but windy. Actually I think when we drove past the river yesterday I saw a boat load of peeps off or coming back in the Jet Boat, I bet it was you guys. Glad you had a nice time, it's nice up at this neck of the woods isn't it? We just love it here, the peeps are just so friendly. Before I fell preg I was thinking about buying myself a Kayak to go paddling up the river, it's so lovely down there. I used to go canoeing quite a lot pre kids and would love to get back into it.

Sorry to hear about your cat Donna, poor kids. Our neighbour has a Maltese crossed with a Shitsu it's a lovely little lap dog, I think it would be perfect you guys. I know I was watching the news last night and I had tears in my eyes hearing about all the loss of the people and property in Vic, tragic.

Me and the twins have every thing crossed that you manage to get a better offer Cathy!

LOL I did think of you when we were driving round, yes it is beautiful. when we were here the first time, 2003, we stayed at a cabin near Mt Field drove there from Hobart so must have gone through New Norfolk then but I cannot remember it at all. I do remember Westerway with the Possom Shed, it had just been sold and I so wanted to own it, it was a lovely shop with nick nacks and the cafe area just outside at the back with Platypus in the river.

we were there on Friday only the two of us on the Jet Boat we had the last ride at 4pm we stayed at the Old Colony Inn and had a few drinks in the Bush Inn, beaut deck and what a view over the river

Colin used to Kayak too he keeps saying he's going to buy one but never gets round to it, I was going to get him one for xmas but its something he needs to choose really. He had his eye on a beautiful wooden one at the festival Theres quite a lot of kyaking here too along the river estuary and out at sea.

Hi Teabag, we've been getting coverage on the news over here about the fires. Absolutely terrible. I haven't seen any updates whilst typing this, but i hope they're managing to get the fires under control. I know people have said that some of the fires have been started intentionally. I dont know what possesses some people to do such things - they certainly need their heads seeing to.

I was sorry to read about your cat.

It's absolutely tragic, I've had to turn off the TV because I was crying so much listening to the personal stories. They are still struggling to get some of the fires under control and massive areas are a complet no go zone, over 6000 homes have gone completely and people are in tents. There has been a big response here in Oz for the appeal, over $20 million already and lots of companies offering practical hlep, like Auspost setting up immediate free redirection of post and Westpac putting a hold on bank charges etc but its going to take a long time to rebuild everything, power lines etc are all gone.

It makes me glad to be alive and safe and appreciate everything we have.

Hi Sam, we had some coverage on the news late last night - and some of the people were understandably breaking down whilst being interviewed. Must admit it made me a bit choked up. One poor guy was telling how he'd lost his two children...
That's good that these large companies are offering practical help to people, i cant imagine how these people start to get their lives back together after such things happening. You know they eventually will as with any major disaster, but it must be so hard for them. Its very true what you said though, these things do make you step back and think how fortunate we are.... But it's good that people pull together when things like this happen, it's a crazy, scary world we all live in, and it's reassuring to see that human compassion and love for fellow men is still strong..

Hi Teabag, sorry to hear about your cat. The bush fires in Vic are awful, we have been following it all on the news, bummer that we will be missing your Taste BBQ in March, although brings back great memories of last years one. Hope to be at next years though!!! he he

Kezza hows Alex getting on at Kindy? Hows your bump coming on?? Hope its not too bad with your in-laws being over at the mo and that youre taking it easy!!!!

Cathy any news on the house yet? Max is getting big, cant believe that he is now 5 weeks old!!! God what rain we got yesterday!! its damaged the driveway of the house we are renting, the rain lifted it in some places.

Sammy, Gary and Possums, sounds like youve been having a great time and been keeping really busy.

Hi Corinne, no news on the house The viewers we had sunday have gone to Ireland on holiday and the agent didn't get their feedback on all the houses they viewed Sunday before they went.
It didn't stop raining did it? at least the sun's out today... I know people in work and friends of mine that live in Billericay had bad flooding...the A127 was closed the other morning and it took some people more than 2hours to get to romford from Chelmsford area's.... I've just checked the weather here for Andy for tomorrow as he's working outdoors - and i noticed that it said possible snow showers again for Romford this evening
The weather's going mad all over the world i think
