Time for me to leave the forum I think. If this is the sort of people who hang around here I want nothing more to do with all this.
I shan't bother to reply, so do your worst.

Re: sydney riots
Anyone got any news links to the riot you`re talking about? All I can find is stuff to do with some redfern riot...
http://www.australian-news.com.au/Redfern_riots.htm
As for the kids who stole the car, I wouldn`t wish them dead but if they did die from stealing a car and got chased I have no sympathy. If they had been caught they should go to Jail for a few years at least. The courts are far too lenient on joy-riders and drunk-drivers in the UK and Aus.
Oh, and when I grew up in Aus (Wickham) and South Africa (Meyerton, nr Vereeniging) there was bugger-all to do for me as well but I didn`t go around stealing cars or making trouble, so that`s no excuse either for those kids. Find `em stuff to do in Prison like picking up the soap if they`re that bored.

Someone made an interesting point in a letter to the SMH - If the riot had involved "people of a middle eastern appearance" ( PC Aussie speak for Lebanese) all hell would have broken loose with outraged shock-jocks and MP's demanding deportations etc - but the 3 boys in the car and seemingly most of the rioters were of white Anglo/Celtic background and no one is arguing for deportations to the UK or Ireland....
