Netta your gonna hate me it will be by car 1hr 30 'at least' and if we came by train it looks like we would need to catch up to 3 trains ....just tried journey planner and even that got confused
Sorry! its been a nightmare hasn`t it....is there an area out of London that people would be happy with? would have more luck finding a child friendly place.......if everyone was happy with Greenwich 10 mins down the road is Kent!
Sorry Netta

Sorry I didn't reply last night - didn't get back till late and had a stinking sinus headache.
OK - What about this Paddock Wood suggestion? I remember going ballooning there for my 30th birthday We crashed into some old biddies field and her alsatian dog looked very mean. John scorched his bald head under the burners! I can't remember where it is exactly but I'm sure it will be fine by us.
Or Welling - wherever that is. Basically we're fine with whatever the choice.

I thought I was the only sad person awake at 05:45 in the morning. The cat decided to cough up some furballs. I thought my husband was choking so I woke up with a start, and can't get back to sleep again.

The trouble I've found with London is that all the well located nice pubs (i.e the ones in the City) are closed on Sunday. The ones that have play areas or gardens, are much further afield (e.g Greenwich / Kew) and are absolutely swamped at weekends and won't let you pre-book any tables, unless the whole party is dining. As we never know exactly who's going to turn up, and who'll be dining, its a bit of a nightmare.
So from that point of view its far easier to meet in a County pub rather than a London pub. I know in Essex we have quite a few pubs with very large gardens, good facilities for children, and bar food as opposed to seperate restaurants, so that not everyone has to eat. I'm sure Sue2 will know some places in Kent just the same.
Trouble is a lot of people simply prefer to jump on the train, so they can have a few drinks and not be too concerned about driving home. And this is where Kent is difficult. For us its about a 40 minute drive, but to get to Kent by train (for example) takes us about 2.5 hours! However, hubbie is happy to drive in our case, so that's why it really doesn't matter for us.
Although it may well mean excluding a couple of people I think we're going to have to start looking at Kent, otherwise we'll land up in a pub where we'll never get to sit together and that would be defeating the object.
Happy Hunting

Just had a look at the site for the Hop farm next to the pub to see if they had anything on that weekend as it gets very busy...and they have www.thehopfarm.co.uk ...I dont know how much this will effect the pub its self? could phone the pub and ask, if the weather is nice it would be a perfect meet place
