The largest group of people who are in OZ illegally are from the UK and Ireland not from third world countries. Can't blame them l would enter OZ illegally in l had to live in the UK.

None of my ancestors were sent to Oz :lol: ...however, I do have a full manifest of the First Fleet...all 11 ships, passengers...and even a dog which arrived safe and sound ;) . If anyone knows that any of their ancestors came on the First Fleet just give me a shout and I can verify it...be they officers, convicts or 'free' settlers ;)

Hilarious and, like many of this ilk, not very productive. This guy has been totally honest and has been flamed for it. Not that I care one iota, but..........my friend from the UK entered australia while pissing about backpaking in south east asia. He even has a couple of criminal records hanging around; minor drugs offences, GBH, ABH, that type of thing. He had no intention of staying in OZ, just passing through and wasting time.

He has no real trade or skills. He lays pipes on roads in the UK. And guess what? He got a job working on a road, illegally of course. Before long his boss, who likes him a lot because despite everything he is a hell of a guy and loved by almost everyone - offered to sponsor him for a visa. He is now living happily in some coastal city, has a good job, lot's of friends, plenty of girls on the go and vows never to return to the UK because it is a shithole that has never done a thing for him. So go for it I say. Whats the worst that can happen? Get sent home? So *****in what!!! Some of these people should try living in Northern Ireland and see what they would do to get the hell out.

Holier than thou is a phrase that springs to mind. But why you would want to go to that god forsaken desert is anybodies guess ha ha.

l would rather immigrate to Iraq and live the most violent terrorist ridden slum sewer in Baghdad then immigrate to the UK. Thank God my ancestors were sent to OZ, if the POms had any brains 200 years ago they would have all packed up and moved to OZ when they had the chance and left the convicts behind in that hell hole toilet called Britain as punishment.:thumbup:

I don't think he's been flamed at all - he's posted a question about committing a criminal act on a public forum. A public forum where a lot of people are trying very hard to migrate to Australia legitimately. How on earth did he think people would respond?

Maybe later I'll post a query about how best to do over the old lady's house just up the street, or maybe hold up the post office or a security van - see what sort of a response I would get to that...

As it happens, there do seem to be some legal options available to him, but there were much better methods of asking than proposing coming here illegally.

It is a true fact that not everybody is eligible to move to Australia.

Come on guys, doesn't anyone have any compassion these days ???? This young guy has just lost his grandparents who raised him and now the only other family he knows are moving to the rest of the world.. He's not as lucky as some of us who have qualifications and sufficient money to get to Australia when we wanted to despite the fact it was hard work. Have people forgotten the impetuousness of youth??? When I was first here in my early 20's I'd nearly have done anything to stay.

Knifey, if you can see past the moralising of some of the previous posting you'll see the advice is at all costs DO NOT attempt to come illegally - you're only 21 and have time to get the necessary city and guilds or what ever you need to come over - it just won't happen in a hurry. Sure you could try the nearest relative route but then without a recognized skill over here you'll find it hard to get work. Check out what occupations are in demand here - you be able to get some of the required skills relatively easy through your local college.

In your hurry to get out of NI don't forget that if you did get deported from Australia it would seriously restrict your movement outside of Europe and just imagine how much worse it would be to think that you couldn't come back to Australia, rather than your current position where you can't get over yet, but with a bit of planning and effort it shouldn't be a problem.

Apologies if this is off topic but I take exception to being told that the job I do is menial work !!!! I am an immigrant from the Uk and have been here 2yrs and work for a small company in the Barossa Valley where I have progressed from not knowing one end of a grapevine from the other 2yrs ago to a position of senior leading hand in charge of a team of 12-15 people (mostly Aussies) responsible for ensuring that the required amount of fruit is picked and delivered to the wineries on any given day during the current vintage and ensuring that the winter vine pruning is carried out to the vineyard owners requirements so therefore I dont'consider that a menial job by any
means ...
