Hubby got one in Adelaide on our validation trip.
And three Sydney tunnel tolls violations on the same day. Sydney's road tolls must be the worst signposted in the world - I reckon it's deliberate and a money making venture. Mind you, it didn't work on us if it is as we never got billed by the RTA, just by the car hire company for an admin fee (well, four in total actually).

I spoke to my Aussie work colleagues about it here and it seems virtually everyone has had a at least one speeding ticket, some have had several. I think it's par for the course here

Camera fine and speed gun, $100 and $150 respectively over the last year.
Breath tested 3 times, first occasion just sitting in the passenger side of my car, no key in the ignition, copper said he was going to breath test me, I asked why as I was not driving, he said he was going to anyway. Passed the test as I had not had a drop to drink and the copper said to me 'Well done Mr Nice Guy, you did the right thing'
How can I drive a car without a key in the passenger seat? Stupid twat.
Second passed.
Third time I had just used a mouthwash and failed the test as technically speaking I was dead due to the alcohol level being so high. Then got a lecture about using mouthwash.
Must be the brother of the first twat.

I lived in Oz for 21 years before I received a speeding ticket there (Melb).
71 in a 60 zone - that had been a 75 zone up until the week before.

I got one when I was 18 and had just started driving - 67 in a 60 zone. To be fair, my car was VERY old and my speedo needle kinda wobbled back and forth, so I couldn't tell my speed too well.
Never had one since - I have worked in ICU for too long to speed very much or very often.
Now parking tickets, I'm a recidivist.. just never learn!

Hi guys some good info on cameras,do 10 kmh less through them,always..
get yourselves a 2008 street directory in your state as they have all the camera locations, here are the rta/main roads sites.now on the nsw & sa sites in the heavy vehicle section you have the safe-t-cam locations for us truck drivers,in these 2 sections you can go to travel time informaion which tells us the time we have to abide by between cameras,it would be useful for all you uk guys/gals who want to get about.

http://www.transport.sa.gov.au/regis...eavy_vehicles/
http://www.mainroads.wa.gov.au/NR/mrwa/run/start.asp
These are all the heavy vehicle sections, you can find home then have a look around...if any of you guys/gals do intend to do a bit of driving out in the bush, always take plenty of water, your best type of vehicle is a 4wd,also invest a few bucks in a uhf/cb radio coz if you break down out in the outback somewhere, let me assure you...it will save your life,on the highways set it to channel 40 on the truckies channel, channel 29 if you are going north up the pacific highway.
One thing to not forget, our driving conditions are very different to europe so adjust carefully & dont do anything silly around trucks,if you are unsure then get on the uhf & ask the truck drivers what the go is,re:traffic conditions etc,etc...
finally when are you gonna send down a cricket team that can play

have now learnt to be a lot more aware of the side of the road...
Speed limits in this country are an absolute joke, its purely a revenue raising thing.

No speeding tickets for my wife or I in over 5 years. I think we may be the only people we know with such an enviable record.
I did get pulled over ages ago for 72 in a 60. The cop tried to nail me on not having a QLD driver's licence but I told him I didn't need one on 457 visa. He let me go with no fine or anything

From this and the other poll it definitely looks like the Aussies enforce the speed limits more strictly. If it is revenue raising then I would like to thank the 70% of you (who've chosen to pay) for supporting the rest of us
I'm wondering now if some states are worse than others. Is it worth a poll or are you all sick of Speeding Polls by now?
