Have you had a speeding ticket in Aus?
#31
Neither of us, been here 2 and a half years. We both seem to know what the speed limits are - the signs are a give away
and if they're not then the rules in the book are quite clear. We don't feel the need to keep our eyes on the speedo, have no problem judging how fast our cars are going. Patronising? perhaps

I am shocked at how many people have had speeding tickets, really, it is not hard to keep to the speed limit (other than in the really anoying 25kph road work zones when there are no people there).
I also don't have to stare at my speedo to know what speed I am doing. If you have been driving for any amount of time it is second nature!

Yup. I haven't had one for about 10 years but managed to get one in Darwin - luckily a few weeks before they brought in the demerit points system in NT
It took about a week for me to get the ticket and cost me about $120 I think. nice picture of the car though.

I've been here 18 months and got my first one the other day - driving at 115 in a 100 zone - $230 fine and three points!
It was a Sunday morning, it was on the highway and I was pelting back from the Port Fairy Festival to get back to work in Melbourne...I knew I was speeding for most of the way so it didn't come as much of a surprise!
But to be honest, when you're on an empty 100kmh road, it's very easy to go much quicker without realising.
Anyway, I had a fantastic weekend, and made it back to work in time, so no regrets

I'm surprised at the number of law breakers.
Don't you ever watch the news and see the number of road deaths caused by speed ?

Come on, don't tell me you've never gone over the limit? I'm generally pretty careful these days but I got caught doing 70 right after passing the 60 sign. I was slowing down, honest.

Oh my .....
I have been here 14mths and have 7 points on licance and just having a disagreement with traffic place about another 3.
never had any in uk.
Hubby has 6, and daughter has 6, although 3 was from her boyfriend.
Sure SA (adelaide) needs the revenue.
