And what they call utes here can be found in South Africa where they are called bakkies.
Not too sure about good beers though but some are better than others.
you cant compare a bakkie to a ute...a bakkie seems to be some kind of motor machine that is more than 20 years old a ute in australia is a V8!!!

australia is great and amazing country if you are small minded and you lack ambition, if you got ambition then move to europe! you cant compare the 2 thats all that i am saying!

I don't compare and never have done but I do object to being called small minded and lacking ambition just because I like a country you obviously don't. I did England (Europe) for 40 plus years, now I'm doing Aus. Don't call me small minded.

ho ho...

So, I guess that you think that the average european has more "ambition" than the average Australian? In what way?

A lot of Aussie utes are less than V8s and a fair few are old and decrepit.

OP you come across as willing to give up so easily, this is why your getting torn to shreds for amusement.

The problem is thinking you had everything nailed down before even stepping foot in the country. A bit arrogant if you ask me. You can read the "how to be a professional swimmer" book as much as you like, but you may never a pro and if you do, it would take years of experience first. Experience means everything and one day, week, even month, doesn't mean jack, no matter how many correct facts you think you know. and the CBD, what were you thinking?

This ain't Disney land, don't go announcing your an immigrant to random people in the street and expect a sticky badge. Don't go moaning or lacking patients during your first few days?, that's just guaranteed disappointment. It's like the Matrix, we can only show you the path, you have to find out for yourself. Trial and error is the safety net, never fails, always works.

Your post looks like its written by a liar, because many people know its an opposite, but ones truth is an others lie. Hopefully you put more effort in from your side and stick it out several months. Experience will give you a different perception on things and its closer to the opposite to what you currently think.

Just spent 5 days in Perth & felt total opposite - stunned by how laid back and friendly we found it, really had a nice vibe we thought. Seemed like everyone we met was startlingly pleasant - the guy in the chemist who advised me on folic acid & flu remedies, the random man in the CBD who explained to us where Woolworths was, the man selling tickets for the shuttle bus... maybe it's a case of you reflect what you project? Or maybe it depends what kind of place you come from, what you're used to? (We've not long left Glasgow )
