I asked for a quote from the builder but they didn't even want to do it. From what i've heard most of them don't, and if they do they charge like wounded bulls!! Just have to make sure the missus works on her shoulder strength before this job is required!! LOL

So have they designed it that all your downpipes run to the soakwells? My builder had them on the plans, wanted me to put 3 large soakwells in a row under my garden and then run all the downpipes to them. This would take forever to dig, with or without machinery!!

Far from shying away from doing it they were very keen that they did them as they said they are an absolute nightmare to fit after the building goes up. As for cost I dont know if what we paid was expensive I just know after seeing them both (each one as big as our car and probably easily as heavy) they could have charged me whatever they wanted for me not to have to dig holes for them and try to get them on to the plot. I dont envy you at all having to do them yourself !!!

Well not much progress on our front. Final documents are signed, shire approval granted, we're waiting on developer approval before we go to scheduling. I am going to chase up LWP about the approval today, I am led to believe they have had it for about 2 weeks and I have heard they are normally a lot quicker than that. Our conditional approval was granted in a day.
Georgiou have knocked the soldiers off our retaining wall, as they have done for a few others, looks like they are addressing complaints from us and other owners. I have noticed they have gone back and done the interlocking on a few of the walls. Hopefully we'll end up with a good result.
A few of the houses going up have their zero lot walls being built ontop of the retaining walls. I hope for their sake that the walls don't move. We have had to do additional footing work (-5C and brick build up, the footings will be same depth as the retaining wall) on our zero lot wall so as to not compromise the house and the wall itself.

We went in the new pub for a quick drink yesterday and im sorry to say that IMO its a total shocker. "Sports bar" themed with a TAB, very poorly laid and cheaply fitted out with what seemed to be a very decidedly dodgy set of patrons.
We were expecting it to be a comfortable family friendly place given the amount of young couples who seem to be moving or considering moving up there but its far from that and its actually made me quite worried about how LWP are marketing Ellenbrook if thats their target audience...

People seem to excited when a new Hungry Jack's is opening up or a cafe is opening up on the beachfront.
As for marketing, I've seen it all before after living here for 9 years. Clarkson (Somerly) was going to be the new Subiaco, Mindaire the new Hillarys and Jindalee the new Cottesloe.

Ho hum, welcome to Perth. Sounds like plenty of the establishments round here. Nothing to do for miles, Joondalup shopping centre and 'CBD' is where it's at. Swan Valley is nice for an anual visit and the odd meal out.

I just dont know what u see at Joondalup. Its certainly grown and developed but its still really got nothing exciting happening. Wasnt it the original 'new northern CBD'? Still, the whole of Perth is generally a pretty quiet sort of place and i guess thats the attraction for many. If you want constant attractions, things to do, excitement etc u hav to go East
