Ellenbrook

We lived in Ellenbrook for 4 years, loved it at first, bought a house and everything, but unfortunately we got bored, it felt like the middle of no where, and yes Gnangara Road is extremely depressing to drive up and down every day and not to mention how much mileage it puts on your car! -after living there 4 years we craved civilisation, we were that desperate we ended up moving to the Gold Coast, it got that bad for us!!

You forgot to mention you lived in Melbourne before Ellenbrook. Your just a gypsy mate lol x

Hey Guys, I saw this thread on Ellenbrook and thought someone was looking for some different views on the place, but I should've read further as it looks like it's more of a thread on building in Ellenbrook, I can see how my experience would be unwelcome at this stage but look everyone is different and what might work for someone might not work for someone else! I really do wish you all the best and hope it is fantastic for you all! lol alxx

We've had a our retaining wall rebuilt and they did a much better job of it. Happier yes, 100% no and we're still working it through with them.
Had a look through clayts house on the weekend. Got some high ceilings mate, should look good. Massive alfresco section.
Our final plans arrived today, we'll check them out this weekend and hopefully hand them back on Monday so the construction process can start.
Did you guys (ian and clayts) know there was a petition to get the driveway openings widened?

The ceilings are high throughout my house(31c i think?). Got a couple of recessed ceilings too, hopefully makes the house seem bigger!! lol The alfresco seems bigger than expected, which is good. Hopefully have some good bbq's out there next year!!

Have my parents visiting us and went up today to show them the slab.
We almost dropped dead when we pulled up and the brickwork is about 25% up, its wasnt even supposed to start until next week

Purposely left the space at the side of the house for a pool, might be waiting for some time though

I know it's some way off yet, but have you guys looked at the soakwells yet? I'm thinking i may put a few smaller rain tanks in where they are less noticeable but otherwise will probably just use the polyprop soakwells. Another weekend of back-breaking work to look forward to

Just the usual requirements, all downpipes to be either linked to a soakwell or rainwater tank. Concrete is great until you get to about the third one and the back dies!! lol Polyprop all the way, never had problems before and much easier to work with.
