Hello all,
Does anyone know if they sell Heinz baked beans over in OZ???
I can't live without them myself!!!!!!

Beans are pricey compared to Uk. There are Oz heinz beans, in a green tin and "UK style" beans in the famliar blue/black stamp. They were about 1.70 is I recall. Although watties and coles beans are not too bad and cheaper than heinz , not as cheap as UKers though!

Basics like bread, beans,milk,pasta etc cost a bit more in oz mate!

The "ordinary" sliced loaf in coles/wollies is bloody ordinary, about sainsburys economy standard, yet 5 times the cost!!!!

Why is bread so expensive?

A mate of mine opened a bakery thats makes Turkish bread and he is loaded now

A lot of Aussies do make their own, due to the cost and crap quality of Aussie supermarket bread. My father in law made his own every day, at first I thought why?? After a couple of weeks I respected his decision and helped myself.

We try all the cheapo/generic stuff once and stick with it if its good, but a lot of cheap meat for eg is just cheap because its not trimmed and just fat or bone. Food aint cheap here.
