Just watched todays show, agree with the others that it was the best yet. You came across as such a lovely couple and hope it all works out well for you. Mark now wants to move to Cairns. Told him theres room for us in that first house with you
Your family seemed so supportive of you. Wish ours were more like that. Hope your dad is ok Ruth, I know how you feel as my dad isnt in the best of health either

Wish they wouldnt keep on repeating the same bits of the programme though and Nadia wasnt so negative about everything.

All the best

We were very lucky to be given the opportunity to go and revisit Cairns and answer all the questions we had regardng the move, believe me when I say we have researched this pretty damn well, my note taking is legendary! We now have our visas and once the house is sold we'll be moving to Cairns, much to the disappointed of my boss who keep trying to bribe me to stay, yes I do work too! They showed all the lovely negative aspects of work in Cairns for marine bios, what they didn't show was that last time I was in Cairns I worked as a marine bio on one of the boats, I got the job within 24 hours of being in Cairns and I got paid more than Adam so that is what I'm planning on doing again. It is great knowing that Adam already has a job lined up for when we arrive and it takes the financial pressure off.

We so fell in love with the first house largely because it was so much more beautiful that we thought we'd ever afford so to be told we could was great, we actually saw another mortgage advisor when we were out there, they didn't show that either, you said my work on the boats without a contract was fine, phew! They pretty much don't do small houses out there so why not stetch yourselves and get the best that you can afford? The one in Yorkeys Knob was really down, they didn;t show the half of it, we were told it would cost at least $100k to do it up which would make it more expesive that the second house that was brand new so why would we go for that! Initially Yorkey's Knob was where we wanted to go but the flight path put us off as there were planes over head every 15-20 mins and were too loud for my liking but other than that its gorgeous but well probably go with Kewarra Beach and build our own home as its cheaper!

Finally there is nothing wrong with our lives in the UK but we know that we can improve our lives, lifestyle and future for our foxcubs by moving to Oz, so why would not want to do it?

Thanks again for all your support and I hope you all have successful moves and fantasic lives down under

Can't believe so many people watched it! And am so grateful for all your kind comments. We were really surprised to get on as we were a couple and they seem to concentrate on families probably because families have more dilemmas to deal with than young couples. It will be hard to leave our friends and families but its hard for everyone and we're really lucky that we have so much support from our friends and families there's no way they'd stop us going.

My Dad is recovering from his surgery and can travel which is great, he's just about to go to Asia for a month on a tour the lucky thing! So he'll be out to stay pestering us in no time, they're even planning it already" And when the foxcubs come along they'll be no stopping them!

It is annoying that they play the same bits over and over again, probably because we only said a couple of negative things!!! We're very postive people and always look for the postive but are also realistic and lucky that we had a the chance to really check out Cairns before the permanent move.

Thanks again for your support and feel free to ask any questions you like, I know they didn't cover everything on the programme!

Best of luck with your moves

We watched it last night and can only agree with what others have said. My wife said you two were the only ones she really got to empathise with, principally as you were so positive and really want to go.

All the very best for the move and hope you get your dream job

We enjoyed it to, it's an area I've not even thought about. We both enjoyed watching it because you didn't have kids. I thought you both came across as friendly and positive. Good luck with the house sale and move.

Thanks very much. We loved the look of Rockingham - absolutely ideal for what we want. The only thing I didn't understand from the episode with the Mustafa family was if they thought they'd struggle with a mortgage then why was the taxi driver not going to get a job in Oz??

He said he'd be a house husband but all the kids would be at school, so what would he do all day? Very bizarre!! If working a few hours a week would be the difference in getting your dream house in a dream location then do it!!

Well done you two... At long last, a positive couple who really want to go - and not whinge and whine about every single thing..
My wife and I visited Cairns in June - what a fantastic place. Good luck to you both.. You have restored my faith in the programme!!

Hi Sarah,

Hope you're all enjoying your new life in Aus, have been watching the programme and will look out for you. We are looking to move to Aus this year, in process of getting visas and are looking at Brisbane. Can you offer any advice, places to live? What process you went through? How quickly the process was for you? Any information you could advise would be great.

Enjoy
Jacqui

Many people have said it but I'll say it again, best show so far!

Saw it yesterday night and as we are a couple of the same age and in pretty much identical circumstances as you guys it was great to watch. You were both very positive and found the bit where you went to the mortgage advisor very useful to see. Much better than the usual (oh wow they have coffee shops here) that gets on most of the programs.

Me and the misses were both smiling away watching you both so wish you both all the very very best.

Hope we can follow you over soon!
