I know I'm repeating myself but I think its worth it to point out to any new migrants that if you lose you job in the first two years after gaining PR you are entitled to nothing. ..and that's exactly what you will get from Centerlink. If you can't support yourself during that time you are expected to leave... or starve.

This is true. No help for 2 years, in this climate that is an issue if you can't get work.
Just curious, what would happen if you were in this position and could neither support yourself or afford a plane ticket back?

You will be out on the street relying on the likes of Salvo's or St Vinnies... and that's not an exaggeration

You would go to Centrelink and talk to them...

Nothing is ever as black and white as it first looks.
And nothing is ever as true as you are told it is.
