Air Asia Seat Sale

Re: Air Asia Seat Sale
No airline is going to do long-haul without reclining seats - doing so would be a quick way of going out of business.

Re: Air Asia Seat Sale
They are running A330-300's on Air Asia X now into Stanstead. Only the new planes appear to be servicing the Australian routes A340-300, A330-300 etc.
The only planes are servicing Asian short haul routes by all accounts.
So its not that bad I guess. Having said that I'll stick to Singapore, but thats only because I tend to fly solo whereas as family could save a bundle.

My wife (who has lots more annual leave than me!) booked a sneaky trip back for May. Unfortunately they don't fly from Sydney so will involve a quick trip down to Melbourne, but at those prices who's complaining??!!!!
Cheers,
Graham

I've been looking at options for a side trip to Italy from the UK - I'm not going unless we get to go to mainland Europe as well.

Re: Air Asia Seat Sale
Why are people complaining about Airasia? How can you complain about tickets that cost $700 to London?? I'm suprised you get a seat for that price let alone meals and IFE.
It's a case of "You get what you pay for". If you paid $2000 for a ticket then fair enough complain away, but for $700 I don't see how any complaints are justified. Of course service, comfort, facilities are going to be poor, how do you think they can charge so little for tickets??
If you want good service blah blah then you need to pay a good price.

It's $700 or less to fly from Australia to the UK FFS.

The airline is not customs or border control.

Re: Air Asia Seat Sale
We've just returned from the UK and used Airasia....they were great!
Perth to KL had tv's in the seats but the rest had portable tv's, cost 30myr each to hire. There were only about 6 films though and it hadnt been updated for our return journey so the kids watched Dragonball about 8 times
I had pre-booked food for the outward journey and it was ok but found it a pain having to wake the kids up to eat so i didnt book any meals on the return...took pack-up
Would definately use them again but i wouldn't bother booking seats...just make a dash for the back....hubby and 2 boys had a row each to lay across.
We had a 4 night stopover at KL on the outward journey....fab city....but coming back we came straight through, with a 4 hour wait. The kids were happy enough as there's a McDonalds and Marry Brown's at the LCCT.

Hiya, pleased to hear that your flight with Air Asia went smooth as we have been looking to book with them. You say that you had 4 hours in airport on return leg, was this enough time to collect baggage and re-check in for the perth leg or could you check in for both legs at Stansted? Someone also said that you need to transfer from the domestic airport to the international airport at KL, is this a drama??
This is all in the same terminal though, there is no need to transfer. The terminal is very small however I wouldn't be comfortable booking a 4 hour connection. When I arrived at the LCCT the queue (scrum would be a more appropriate word) for passport control was at least an hour long. If there is a delay on your inbound flight you are starting to cut things very fine - if you miss your next flight you will need to arrange accomodation and buy a new ticket - Air Asia won't help you out.
Far better to remove any worries and have a KL stopover or a night at an airport hotel. There are very cheap options for this.

No you can't through check your bags - you need to collect them, clear customs and check in again.

We're staying here as our flight from London arrives late.

I'd agree. There is a very cheap and decent hotel not too far away from LCCT called the Tune Hotel. Here's the link:
