Hi, sponsor has just received our AOR2 and we're being processed in Mississauga. CIC application status still says that they're "reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements".

Thanks

Well green in the face you're staying in Mississauga! Will be interesting to see the difference in processing times though!

@lizlon we saw you got London and were bracing ourselves for the same. Hopefully you're one of the quick London ones (and that we're not one of the slow Mississauga ones). Fingers crossed!

We had a status update last Wednesday saying Background Check is In Progress. How long, on Average is this likely to take? We have a very basic application. My CL partner, is British.. No background issues. Everything else is good. Any indication of what time frame we can expect would be so helpful...... Thanks ☺

Days or weeks, not months! Ours took two days (but like you, Brit and Canadian and with a very unusual name (so not likely to be many shady characters with a similar name) and both previously security cleared), I have seen others take 2 - 3 weeks.

It can take months, for some applicants,.. and depending on the backlog that the processing office has. We've had members who have unusual names and still had to give fingerprints to ensure it wasn't them with the dodgy background, so it does happen.

As we always used to say when asked 'how long' - it's an unknown quantity and it will take as long as it takes. Have patience.. you are almost there

So after receiving the CORP and noticing my name (applicant) was wrong, they requested it all be sent back so they can issue another one. So we sent it all back including the two photos. Today we receive the new one back with correct name, however now we only have one photo! They forgot to return the loose photo!

HerMadge Our background check took 7 months.

As long as both the 'original' and 'copy' CoPR have a photo attached to them, that is all you need.

Only one has a photo attached normally.

The copy of the COPR that is stapled to the passport / given back to you after you have validated your PR at the 'landing' interview does NOT normally have a photo.. the one they keep which you have signed and validated at the landing interview does (for their official records). 2nd photo is used for PR card issuance.

That's fine. The 2nd photo is usually kept for PR Card issuance... just make sure you have both copies of the COPR ready to hand to the officer with you when you do your 'landing'.
