Maybe start a list of when you are going and where you hope to live. That way we can all help each other out and maybe hold a get together in Oz each time one of us makes it over there. Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

We've just got back from the Leeds Expo where we met up with Clanfraser and his wife and also Scarletsfan and his wife. So good to put faces to the names now. Armed with loads of info now (and toys for the kids off the stands) well worth going.

Ok so we are Jo(39), Gaz(39), Ben(9) and Daniel(4) going to SOR, poss Secret Harbour or Lakelands.

Spk to you soon

Hi We(Madchef & I) did a list of all the peeps coming to Perth, it was mainly for 2007/8 (do a search for 'Perth 2007/8 list'), it worked really well, we have made some really good friends who's children are all around the same age as ours & it is definately worth doing but takes a lot of upkeep & patience, preferably need 2 people to update it.

If you are coming down this way you will love it & i'm sure NOR too Lakelands is a really big development, Secret Harbour hasn't too many plots left, the ones that are left are on the north-east corner which havn't got the landscaping touches that Satterley seem to be so good at!?

Anyway, hope it all works out for you, let me know if you need any more info
Effy.

hi all
i go do my vettassess practical test on halloween, no idea really what this entails but we'll see on the day i suppose, that sounds quite relaxed and stress free, but let me tell you friends of perth and i quote " bbbbbbbblllllllllloooooooooooommmmmmmiiiinnnnngggg g hhhhheeeeeccccccckkkkk". To say the least i'm reasonably concerned about what lies in store for me. house is up for sale, very slow, don't really no when we'll get there but hopefully 09 not sure where we're going fancy rockingham or maybe ellenborough.

I have been offered a job in Clarkson, recommended to live in Kinross (for the school), So, all being well, Will be in Perth Mid December '08/Jan '09.

Just waiting for the visa (457) now, so it's all just a 'hurry up and wait!' situation at the moment.

Haven't sold the house here yet, but have a friend that's going to rent/house sit until it does sell. Just can't decide on what to do with everything else at the moment, tools etc and don't start me on the dogs - do we, don't we.

Peter (old enough), Claire (?), Nathan (14) and Bethany (12 - going on 22)

So we came to Perth
Hmmm - that's a fair few peculiar comments you've made there.

Firstly, there are places in between the cities; Australia is not defined purely by Sydney or Melbourne or Perth. Secondly - heat is heat - when it hits the 40s it doesn't matter how humid it is, you still fry. Thirdly Sydney is bugger all like London - unless you can commute from Finsbury Park to Bank on a ferry these days. Fourthly Melbourne's climate is not even remotely like the UK's - just about the only thing they have in common is that they're both quite changeable.

But ermm, good luck in Perth. So good they named it once.

Whatever peoples reasons for living where they are is just that, its THEIR reason. You may think differently, so what? If we all thought the same the world would be very boring. I certainly dont intentionally diss people for what they say about where THEY choose to live. Are you actually part of the crowd going out next year or did you just jump on a post to try and stir up trouble????

This thread is for genuine people that are going out to the Perth area next year, to make friends and have a laugh together. NOT to try and validate to others why they are going there.

Hi Jo,

Many thanks for putting us on the list

Me and the hubby have got a 'Bush Retreat' sorted for the first 3 weeks and using this as a base, we are looking at anything from Secret Harbour upwards.

I know this sounds like a needle in a hay stack jobbie but because we haven't been before we are going off jobs and recommendations etc (Call me crazy, I won't mind!!)

We (2 adults & 2 kids aged 9 and 11) are moving out to Perth (region somewhere...) as soon as the house has sold. We are flying out on Xmas day to validate staying over new year.... hoping to have a good look at houses/suburbs during that time.......
