IMO, Walmart sucks because Target has much better quality, similar (or better) prices and more interesting stuff.
I'll go with that, Target for me, the few cents more it costs is well worth it, nicer stores, better quality products. Does anyone know if they treat their staff better than Walmart?

I much rather shop at Target over Walmart. Sometimes get good deals at Marshalls, get most of our Christmas presents for sending back home to the UK at Marshalls that sell branded goods at knock down prices.

I still like Target, household and alike, but there clothes have gone right down hill quality wise since I use to come over to visit, 6 7 years ago.

Or ex Kmart stores, which have turned into Sears, that's dangerous though, walking around their tool department

Try Marshalls the next time you are over here. They sell brand named shirts/clothes for much less than the usual price I have bought shirts that cost me $70 at upmarket dept. stores only later to find the same shirts at Marshalls for less than $20. I will never buy a $70 shirt again! But more people seem to have discovered Marshalls, and their prices seem to be going up. Marshalls have a sister store too.

We used to have Marshalls in Chicago, but can't seem to find a local one in NJ, Burlington Coat factory seems similar. (OK I'm getting dragged into the shopping talk )

Would love to shop at a Kmart ... just don't have one near. I never liked shopping at Walmart, just seemed a horrible store to shop at, so I rarely shop at a Walmart.

I hate shopping. I only go when I absolutely have to. I have tried shopping in stores like Marshall's/TK Maxx, but I hate having to look through racks & racks of mix & match clothes. That's why whenever hubby would tell me to buy a new dress for a special event, we would go down to Debenhams & enlist the help of their free personal shopper there, it was superb!

OK Gruff there is a Marshall's in Mount Holly just up 541 south ( i think ) just past the Burlington Mall.
Also if you like Marshall's you've got to go to ROSS. There is one near Moorestown Mall beside Michaels and Comp USA. Great deals at Ross.

Ross rocks, as does Bealls (which I think is a FL store, no?)

Good deals. But then again, if you keep your eyes open and shop the sales, you can pick up clothing for next to nothing at Penney's, Gap, Old Navy etc.

I have to make a trip to Walmart every so often and stock up with White Cloud toilet roll. We've tried all the other toilet rolls but White Cloud is the best and only Walmart sells it in this area.

Yeah, I used to buy all my kids clothes from there, but htese days I look at the stuff and it's crap. None of the kids clothes have any style to them, it's the same bland look in a variety of shades of pink and blue for girls, and all the boys stuff is either red, blue or grey.
All the clothes my kids are sent for birthdays and Christmas from the UK are streets ahead in style and originality.

ooh I love Ross...there's always something new to find everytime you shop

as for Wamart..the store up the road is old and trashy so I tend to avoid it..all the others are fair game...I actually do most of my regular food shopping at one of their Nieghbourhood WalMarts (it only sells food) it's one of the closest and cheapest..
