This company is the pits.....one of their employees had severe brain injuries whilst at work, was awarded compensation purely to cover healthcare costs and now Walmart is suing her to get more than the sum she was awarded!
Even worse, her husband of 30 years has been advised that he may have to divorce her so she would become eligible for medicaid:

Purely and simply, the unacceptable face of capitalism.
Avoid Walmart and Sam's Club -- use Costco instead.

It seems to me to be a great example of something that I find very f**ked up about this country - how people who work for big companies seem to feel perfectly fine about f**king others over just because it will get more money for their multi-million dollar corporation.
No doubt the instigators of this suit regard themselves as Christians, and fine upstanding members of the communtiy and sit in the front pew at church every sunday.

My issue is with the hypocracy of people who consider themselves to be Christian yet who deem it fine to persue cases like the one detailed by the OP and generally shaft other human beings in pursuit of corporate recongnition and the almighty dollar.
I'm curious as to how these individuals can reconcile the teachings and tenants of their faith with their actions at work, that's all.
I was certainly not attempting to make a blanket statement about all christians per se.

"The Shanks settled in August 2002 for $900,000. After attorneys' fees and expenses, an irrevocable trust set up for Debbie Shank got $417,477 and her husband got $119,280, according to court documents."
So from the initial award lawyers took $363,243 or about 40% of their payout.
The biggest problem with this country is the scumsucking lawyers and the lack of controls over them.

It gets worse... My uncle back in england worked for asda (owned by walmart) and he was about 2 years away from his pension and had worked there for over 20 yrs, and bam he got laid off. No explanation, nothing. In fact when asked for an official reason for his dismal they refused to give anything. They just did not want to have to pay his pension when he retired. Severance package was really crappy too. They talked to several lawyers and they all seem to agree that he has a case, just goes to show walmart is EVIL!
