'......new owners turned it into an Italian bakery and it was shit and quickly closed up I think. Major shame.'

Brilliant!! I really miss this kind of abrupt, say it as it is humor....

Yes obviously it's different, but it's possible they're selling them. The 99c Store isn't in Florida, so Dollar Tree is the alternative.

Dont know if these have been mentioned before.. forgive me for not going thru 50-odd pages, but here in Waco Texas we have a Frugals store which sells some Brit foods but they change stock very quickly and what might be there one week probably wont be the next. I have had Colmans casserole mixes, HP Beans, Bird's custard and all manner of pantry food as dirt cheap compared to the online sites.

The other closest Brit food I have found wa at HEB in Killeen (it caters for the military at Ft Hood). They have a small section with the usual items but not overly cheap. Goodwoods in The Woodlands in Houston (oneline) also has a warehouse he sells from and have visited there from Time to Time.

Finally went to the British chip shop in New York over the weekend, A Salt and Battery, it was amazing!! Battered sausage, chips, mushy peas and gravy, yum, yum. I think I can pretty much find everything now that I miss in terms of food from back home

Don't know if this has been mentioned - Hare & Hounds in Thousand Oaks.

They just got all the Easter Eggs in - whooo-hooooo!

Also, the sausage rolls are the best I have ever tasted. Prepared by an English butcher - it's the closest I've come to finding the real thing.

Oh, and real bacon too.

Greenwich Ave, between 12th & 13th St. Not much seating inside but benches outside and a small park area at the end of the street. British food shop next door and tea shop. It was packed!

Todays finds

I went into the new Fresh and Easy in Folsom CA nice and clean but hey it's brand new, got a Yorkie bar and a few bits, did notice that Robinson's Barley water was $3.99 and Heinz beans were $1.49 but still not impressed with the place.

Yet again the 99c store saw me coming
