Is she flying out of Boston? I thought the airport wasn't closed, though most flights that haven't been cancelled will resume on Thursday.

NH ain't going to get hit for a while, so probably best to leave now I guess or head down to RI as that'll probably clear the quickest around here for decent puddle jumper airports.

Thanks Bob -not sure where she is flying from - she was meant to fly today but posted on FB that she is going to be stuck till at least wed so im assuming her flights are cancelled - shes fine tho - in a hotel so thats good. Shes used to being stuck places -this is the 3rd time since 2005 when she has been stuck due to weather!

The flashing on our bay window has failed and water is now pouring into our front room. The lights are flickering, so an outage is imminent and the huge trees at the back of our house are bending in the wind. Roll on Wednesday.

That sucks :(

Hopefully you dont get too much water damage.

UPSs kicked in here momentarily just now. No idea why.. the weather still isnt overly bad here. CL&P don't exactly fill me with confidence at the best of times.

A crane on top of a NYC skyscraper has toppled over. It's dangling down the side of the building.

It's only just starting to warm up around here and friends in and around Boston are saying they've lost power.

The wind is stripping the leaves from the trees, this is good, less weight and less sail area.

Wishing you all a safe night /day whatever it is over there! Sounds pants. We're in the middle of a storm here at the moment in Joey's but nothing compared to what you're all getting into now. As for power outages we get about 3 a month here on average but must be scary in the dark with all that noise and water! Stay safe and warm. Will be sending lots of warming happy vibes your way!

The reason the US has so many power outages is because most of the power cables are above ground...swinging on warped telegraph poles. Only takes a little rain or wind for the power to go off...then in some areas it can take weeks to get it up and running again.
